We went out to Dennys for breakfast this morning, didn’t come in to work until 8. We figured hey, everyone else gets to work 8am-1pm, we shouldn’t have to work 7am-1pm, and they won’t let us leave at noon, so we just came in at 8. There’s hardly anyone here anyway. Breakfast was tasty, I got hash browns with my omelete. It’s hard to find hash browns in CT and they’re something I miss. It’s pretty obvious I was raised a southerner by some of the things I eat. I like my biscuits and gravy, my hash browns, and I even like grits. Grits are quite tasty with just the right amount of butter. *grins*
I have no work today and I just cleaned and reorganized my desk, and cabinets a few weeks ago. I guess I’ll probably spend the day reading, and goofing off. I’m currently reading a diary written by a girl in Vienna from the early 1900’s. It covers her life from when she was 11-14. Sigmund Freud had it published for his students, he thought it was perfect for his psychology students, to let them see clearly into the mind of a young girl. I find it interesting because I like to know what day to day life was like during those years. What would it have been like to grow up in another time period. I often ponder these things. So I’m finding the diary just fascinating.
Anyway, we’re going to Lowe’s after work today to pick up the wood and materials we need for the shelves we’re adding in Sara’s room. I call it “sara’s room”, it’s really more of a library/storage/junk/dog crate room. *shrugs* Sara is only really in there when she’s crated, all her toys are piled on her bed in the living room, she likes to gather them all up in there. The living room hasn’t been the same since we got her. I used to have a nice, pretty living room, now the coffee table is up against the entertainment center, my excersize machine is in there and you have to wade through the dog toys to get to the couch. *shrugs* It doesn’t matter, we don’t often have guests anyway. And when we do, they’re the kind of people that understand having pets. As funny as it may sound to do on Christmas morning, we’ll probably get started on the shelves tomorrow morning. I don’t know when dinner is at hubbys moms but we don’t have anything to do to prepare. Last year we took home-made organic egg-nog, but it wasn’t a huge hit, everyone was afraid of it. *shrugs* Hubby said it was really good, I don’t like egg nog to begin with, so I wouldn’t know.
*yawn* Anyway, I guess I should um, well, get to work is what I normally would say but I’ve no work to do. *shrugs*
No work sounds lovely! I wouldn’t mind wading through dogie toys, that’d be so much fun!
