Well, this is probably about the most uneventful birthday ever. I don’t let hubbys family throw birthday parties for me, they understand that I don’t like being the center of attention and respect that.
The day started off wrong. I had asked hubby to wake me up at 7am. He wasn’t planning to go back to sleep after taking Sara outside at 5am, so I asked him to get me up at 7am. I woke up on my own, looked at the clock, saw that it was 8am, wandered groggily into the office and said “You were supposed to get me up at 7!” I swear, there’s two times you can’t expect hubby to keep track of time, 1.) When he’s playing D&D, and 2.) when he’s behind the computer. This morning he was behind the computer.
We didn’t get our loan yesterday, we were told Monday, at the latest. Plus when we called to check on it last night the guy said he’d look into it and never called us back. I was in a pretty grumpy mood when we went to bed last night. This morning while sitting around discussing what to do about the loan problem we heard a UPS truck pull up outside. Yay, it was the loan package. Problem solved. I dropped the checks in their envelopes and sent them on their merry way. It’s kind of annoying how they did this, they made out the checks to all our credit companies, and for the car loan. Thing is, the amounts have changed since they got the amounts for the checks, so all of them were off, either over or under. I guess this ensures that the money goes where it was intended to go but still, I’d have liked to have been able to make the checks out myself for the exact amounts.
We went to lunch at chili’s. After that we decided to head over to Gamestop to see if Hordes was in yet. They told us not until tomorrow. ?? Today is the release date! Amazon has it, Gamestop had the last release on the release date so why the fuck not this time? I was annoyed, to say the least.
I spent some of my birthday money on a new sound card. This thing rocks socks! Hubby is jealous now. 🙂 I got a Sound Blaster Live card, it has 3D positional audio for games and it sounds really cool with Neverwinter. I didn’t think it’d really matter with my chintzy little speakers but both hubby and I were pleasantly surprised when I loaded up the game and started slashing monsters. 🙂 I’ve been enjoying it. 🙂 I got e-mails from my mom and dad, they’re both sending me birthday money, so is my grandmother. I’m probably going to spend all that on clothes. I need some more nice work clothes. I might even *cringe* buy a skirt or two. I have one skirt, it’s a floor length black skirt, very gothic looking. I refuse to buy skirts shorter than ankle length. I feel weird in them. I used to have to wear these knee length pleated skirts for school, god forbid. I hated that fucking thing. I saw some cute long skirts at fashion bug so I might go there and see if they have any.
An old friend of mine called me today. I didn’t answer the phone. I know, how bad am I? Really though, she only ever contacts me on my birthday and y’know if that’s all the effort she’s going to put forth forget it. I think about her from time to time but have no way to contact her, she didn’t bother to update me with her address and stuff when she moved to Oklahoma city. We don’t have much in common anymore anyway, she was the preachers daughter at the church I went to with my parents. We were really close for a long time, inseperable even. We started drifting though when I quit going to church. The last two years I lived in Oklahoma we hardly saw one another. In her message she said she’d call back so I’ll answer when she does, I’ll talk to her and see if there’s anything still there, sometimes though, people grow apart and maybe it’s time we moved on. If we find reason to still stay in touch then I’m willing to put forth the effort, but will I find after a few letters, or e-mails she just stops answering again? *shrugs*, I guess we’ll see.
Hubby has been working with Sara off leash. I was terrified when he decided to try it out. I just kept thinking “Hyper dog, busy street, hyper dog, busy street”. heh She did well though, we took her for a walk today on the trails out back. She never gets more than 25-30 feet away from us before she turns around and waits for us. She’s not interested in the street and she stops on a dime when you call her name. This certainly makes things easier. We can just turn her loose to go pee and stuff. She seems happier and can get more energy out because she can run around more. It’s hard to charge around when you have a lazy human attached to you, and lord knows she needs to charge around, Golden Retreivers have A LOT of energy. Field dogs definitely aren’t good dogs for lazy people. *yawns* I’m glad hubby isn’t lazy cuz I sure am. 😉
I think that’s it for news for today. Tomorrow I return to work. *sigh*
well, even though it wasn’t exactly fantastic, happy birthday 🙂
