I have had the worst morning so far. I woke up at 4am with the worst acid reflux I’ve had in awhile. It’s been really bad lately. Tonight we’re going to the grocery store so I’m going to pick up some prilosec and see how that works. I took Zantac for a long time when I was around 15. I ended up going off that when I started having less problems and I’ve just been taking gaviscon when I’m awakened with it. Right now though I’m completely out of everything so I had to have hubby go downstairs to get me some bread. I ate that and was able to go back to sleep for about an hour. I’m still having problems with it right now but at least I no longer need to lay down. My throat though, is very raw. It’s absolutely miserable, sometimes the stomach acid goes as far up as my nose so I wake up and my throat and nose feel like they’re on fire. It’s horrid. Hopefully prilosec will do the trick. I’ve had GERD for about 10 years now, I was diagnosed by a specialist about 10 years ago, when I was 13. When I first started having problems with it, it was really scary. I’d wake my dad up in the night and he’d come sit with me in the living room until I felt better. After a few nights of lost sleep he took me to my doctor and I ended up at a specialists office.
Also this morning. I was kneeling down on the floor, I hadn’t realized it but my toenail on my right big toe had managed to slip into one of the cracks on the floor and when I knelt down without knowing my toenail was caught I managed to bend it forward. The bend was about halfway down my toenail. I let out a loud scream and grabbed my toe. All I could do was hold my toe and cry while hubby sat there dumbfounded trying to figure out what the hell had just happened. The nail is bent, broken and split in a few places, 2 hours later it’s still throbbing. I clipped my toenail down as far as I could despite that itself hurting like hell, so it couldn’t catch on anything like my sock. Hopefully I won’t stub my toe for a few days, that could prove to be agonizing, having to wear a shoe right now is painful enough. I still don’t know how I managed to get my toenail just right in the crack in the floor to bend it forward, they did need to be clipped but it wasn’t THAT long, probably one of those once in a lifetime, chance things that you couldn’t duplicate if you tried.
Window dude called last night. His estimate was way, way too high, around $12,000.00!!!!!!! We can get new windows from my father in law for $3,000.00. They won’t have break-proof glass and they won’t be wood, but they’ll be nice enough. We’ll think about going with the really nice windows later on when these other’s need to be replaced. We need money to redo the bathroom and kitchen and twelve thousand dollar windows will leave us with nothing after the roof too. The guy that did our roof estimate was dishonest, he was trying to convince my father in law not to make him get a permit and stuff from the town. He also wanted $5,0000.00 just for labor, which is rediculous. Luckily my father in law was a contractor for many years so he knows what’s reasonable. He’s not going to let us get screwed.
My dad e-mailed me. He hasn’t mailed my birthday present out because he forgot. He said he went to the post office last monday and the line was out the door, same thing on tuesday and he hasn’t been back since. He said he’d send it today. I’m just glad he forgot and it wasn’t our sucky post office that lost it or something.
Anyway, I should go for now and get to work.
Awww, that was a thoroughly horrid morning! My toes started aching, just THINKING about it. And I hope you find some good meds, sounds horrible. Baby has given me little heartburn as of yet, I hope it stays that ways. Cool that you dad just forgot, post offices are crazy this time of year.
