1/19/07

Well, last night at band I got one of the kids to mentor. The first week no 5th grade flute players came. Last night we had 5. It was weird answering questions. They’ve been assigned to ask questions like “How long have you been a member of the community band?” and “How long have you been playing your instrument?” It was kind of funny because she asked me how long I’ve been playing, I had to think for a minute and when I answered 14 years her eyes got all wide and she went “Whoa!”. I kind of felt old. 🙂 Then again, there are people in the band older than me who’ve been playing more like 30 or 40 years. I wonder how their kids reacted. 🙂

Not much else going on here. Hubby is going to be going to Florida, he’s leaving tomorrow and won’t be back until next Thursday. I have to pick him up at the airport after band next week. I’m not looking forward to him being gone for so long but there’s not much I can do other than deal. 🙂 I’d have considered going with him but he’s going for work and I’d have been bored a good deal of the time there. I don’t know what I’ll do with all my free time next week but I’m sure I’ll think of something. Actually I’d like to try and think of something I can do to surprise him but haven’t yet. When I went to Oklahoma back in August by myself he finished our upstairs floors so I came home to beautiful floors. It’d be cool if I could think of something he could come home to. We’ll see how ambitious I get to feeling. 🙂

Anyway, guess that’s it for now. Time to go get my makeup on and make myself presentable. 🙂
