When the alarm went off at 5am this morning I was pretty disapointed, my first thought was “ugh, work.” But then I realized it was Saturday and that I could go back to sleep. Right about now you might be thinking “Why does your alarm go off on Saturday?” That would be because of Sara. Hubby gets up at 5am even on days we don’t work to take her out to go to the bathroom and to feed her at her normal time. If he doesn’t do this she’ll just wake us up anyway. That or she’ll shit in her crate. After hubby takes her out he comes back to bed.

We got up at 7 this morning since we had some stuff we had to get done before hubby’s class. We had to go in to work and clean our fish tanks. Fun times. I hate the woman that was at the security desk at work this morning. She’s annoying, she always makes a point of forcing a Hi or a Bye out of me depending on whether I’m coming or going. She did that this morning. She said “Good morning”, my hubby responded with a “Good morning” and I gave her a polite smile. She repeated “Good morning” to me while staring directly at me expectantly. I choked out a “g’morning” and went on my way. It pisses me off when people do that, hubby always responds with a vocalization so I usually just smile politely so we’re not both talking over one another. I hate people who feel the need to force me to actually vocalize something like I’m some kind of 5 year old being told to thank grandma and grandpa for the cute sweater!! I added the anger from that to my collection and went on my way.

Clyde proceeded to give me hell. He did NOT want his water changed today, and to tell you the truth, I didn’t much want to change it but I had to. A clean betta is a happy betta. On the way to the bathroom with the bowl I managed to spill water on myself. I managed also, to spill water in the bathroom. Then when I was back at my desk I managed to spill even more water, this time onto my desk. My desk has a crack where the peices connect so the water went right through that and landed right onto my keyboard tray. I pulled my keyboard tray out to find my optical mouse sitting in a puddle of water. *sigh* I cleaned up the water and hopefully the mouse will work okay on Monday. I can just see it now, I’ll be the reason no one can have fish at work!

Today has not been my day.

I did score a couple of neat shirts. I like to shop the sale racks at Dots. The shit there is cheap but it’s cute. I got a new shirt with a neato pattern on the front and another that’s black with brown polka dots. Hubby told me the black with brown dots “No offense, looks like something grandma would wear”. I smiled. That’s my style. I tend to lean towards things that are gothic looking or things grandma might wear. I used to actually go to the thrift store and buy things that looked like they probably did belong to someone’s grandma! I’m weird, what can I say. I like sweaters too, sweaters are about as normal as I get.

We had mexican for lunch. 🙂

When I got home I decided to make chili, it has to cook in the crock pot for 3-4 hours. I got that going and now the whole house smells of chili. Then I played with the kittens and offered them some more kitten food. Kitten 1 actually ate from the plate today!! As of yesterday they’d only eat food we offered them on our fingers. But today kitten 1 started eating out of the plate. No one else was at all interested in food though. I might offer some more later.

Next I finally figured out how to work the damned sewing machine. I hate sewing machine’s. They’re so fucking complicated. I never bothered to take home economics, I took a business/accounting type class that was offered for the same credit in school. I finally got the damn thing working which meant I could actually sew up some pants that had ripped on the seam. I’d sewn them by hand a couple times but it kept coming out. The pants no longer have a hole so yay, and I think I’m “friends” with the sewing machine, maybe.

We’re picking up the mattress after dinner. But it’s uh, raining. This will be fun, the guy lives all the way in Norwich. That’s an hour away! We’re going to need some tarps. We’d just wait but this is the only day we can pick it up until next weekend. The guy who we’re taking it from would be forced to kick our asses because the mattress is in his kitchen. He’s been eating microwave dinners all week b/c he can’t get to his stove. He has a really small apartment and that was the only place he had to put it.

Anyway, my hubby should be here soon, I’m going to go stir the chili. 🙂
