It’s getting chilly here, the leaves are turning and starting to fall. The ladybugs are moving back into our house. We get ladybugs every fall. Luckily I don’t mind them. Actually ladybugs have kind of a special meaning to me. Around the age of 15 my ex-stepmom had a set of twins die. They would have been my half-sisters. They died within a few hours of birth. It was a sad time for all of us. Their funeral was outdoors, it was in November, it was an unusually warm day for November and there were thousands of ladybugs flying around everywhere, landing on everyone. There aren’t usually ladybugs outside in November, and if there are there aren’t THAT many. It’s almost like we were given something to remember by. I’ve always been fond of ladybugs.

Anyway, this brings us to another thing. Along with the ladybugs another type of bug has moved in. I don’t know what the hell it is, but it’s weird. It’s large, it flies, I’ve never seen it before in my life and I can’t find any pictures of it on the internet. Now, I’m not crazy but I noticed something about it. Hubby has been smooshing them because there’s a ton of them, they’re obviously not in short supply. We had just been catching and releasing them but it’s getting old, there’s a couple in the house a day. When hubby smooshes them though, the scent of flowers comes from them, the smell fills the room! I noticed this last night, but didn’t say anything. This afternoon though I was like “Do you smell that” Hubby said he did smell something and I was like “Dude, sniff the tissue, I think it’s the bug!” Hubby sniffed the tissue (we buy unscented tissues) with the bug wrapped inside and sure enough the smell was coming from the smooshed bug. I know I’m not crazy b/c hubby smelled it too! Now, what the hell kind of bug smells like flowers and is it a bug we should be killing? I mean, if it smells strongly of flowers maybe it uses the smell to attract wasps and bee’s or something, maybe it’s job is to kill and eat wasps and stuff. Lawd knows we have more wasps around here than you can shake a stick at. Why else would something smell of flowers than to attract something that likes flowers?? I really wish I could find a website with some useful information. So if anyone who happens across then happens to be a bug buff tell me, I’m going to take a picture of the next one I see!! We’ve been seeing a couple a day. No less than one.

Ugh, my back hurts. Sitting on this bed leaning over this keyboard can’t be good for my back. I’d kill for like a real back massage from a real Massage Therapist. I love having my back rubbed. Hubby does a pretty damn good job but he gets tired of me asking. I ask like every night, lol When I first got up here he’d happily give me one every night. Four years later he’s not so in to it. I keep telling him he must not love me as much as he did then (jokingly, of course) and he usually says something about being sleepy. hehe

I haven’t done a damn thing tonight. I said I was going to clean the bedroom and I do still need to. I don’t want the neighbors to see the state our room is in. I could just close the door but I want the kitties to be able to sleep on the bed while we’re gone. If it gets cold at night the only part of the house that stays really warm is the upstairs so I want them to be able to sleep somewhere cozy. We’ve got to buy Sara a decent doggy bed since she stays downstairs. We’ll probably get two, one for in her crate and one for her to use outside her crate. I’m really hoping we can get the home equity loan so we can get new windows and doors, that will fix our heating problem. It’s just an expensive project we haven’t been able to do yet. We should be able to take out a home equity loan this year, and finally get ourselves straightened out. That will be sooooo nice! Really though, it’s not that bad, most people who end up where we are taking longer to get out of debt. I read something the other day about the typical American our age and we’re actually doing better than a lot of them so I don’t feel so bad anymore.

8:30, should I start on the bedroom or curl up with a book? *looks around* I’m opting for the book, the mess in the room will still be here for me tomorrow. 🙂

Post a photo of the bug, Brandi, and I’ll probably be able to tell you what kind of a bug it is.
