*frown*

We went grocery shopping after work. woohoo! Does anyone know how much I hate grocery shopping??? We started driving to a store in a small town though so at least it’s not a painful experience anymore. Just dull and boring.

Made speghetti for dinner, mmmm, I got this organic sauce at the grocery store. It was really yummy. I got some other one’s to try too, speghetti noodles were on sale buy 2 get 3 free so it’s a speghetti kind of week. I got some Tomato/Basil Alfredo sauce to try too.

Hubby is installing our AC in the upstairs office, YAY!! It’s effing hot in here.

My fish is doing about the same. Laying on the bottom gasping. Bettas breathe surface air so he comes up once and awhile to take a breath. I’m pissed, it looks like dropsy but luckily I caught it really quick so he might have a chance. Dropsy has a 99% mortality rate though so chances are slim, I’m going to give it all I’ve got though. I’m done buying bettas until I can figure out what’s up with the dropsy cases lately. See if I can isolate the problem, if it’s something I can isolate. I just don’t know, dropsy outbreaks happen too like with certain strains from certain breeders and sometimes just at certain times of year in certain towns, it depends. Some bettas and strains just seem more prone to it. So there’s a good chance it’s just shit luck. It’s a really weird disease and no one can really pinpoint a cause.

Also, a hamster died. I was downright shocked. I went over to the phone to check the voicemail and saw one of the hamsters sleeping in a really “odd” place. The other seems perfectly fine so I have no idea what caused it to die. I was checking out his buddy and he’s fine, playing in the wheel and stuff acting completely normal. I have no idea how old these guys are since we got them from a pet store so it might have been age, I don’t know. It was fine yesterday, no signs of illness or anything noticeable, matter of fact they were both being goofy playing in the wheel last night. *sigh* I’m going to miss having both of them, they were hillarious together. I’d get another one but even though dwarf hamsters can live in pairs you can’t just introduce a new hamster really easily. They can live in pairs with another dwarf hamster that they were raised with but they don’t really take kindly to strangers.

I’m just having the worst luck lately.

Well, I’m going to see if I can find something to put between Kyle’s tank and Arthur’s, Arthur is peering into Kyle’s tank, laying down on his marble’s looking depressed. But then again, if I take Arthur away Kyle won’t have anyone so maybe I won’t. I’ll just leave them be.

Bettas are really difficult to keep; my dad used to have them and got frustrated because they were too hard to keep alive and disease-free. Your hamster might have been older than the pet shop told you; they don’t live very long, unfortunately (three years at best, I think). Pets can really be exasperating and saddening. But they’re worth every bit of it!
