kiss my frankengrass

I saw Frankenweenie today!! I may have enjoyed it a little too much! I know that I enjoyed it because I was able to sit (but not still) through the whole movie without getting bored! I would really love to have my very own Frankenweenie animal. I am now thinking about getting the magic fish and calling it Francoisweenie…not just Francois. Thats my plan as of now, but its subject to change starting tomorrow. Well now I’m thinking I could get the magic fish a companion and name it Mr. Feenyweenie. I also wish I had my own Mr. Feeny as a neighbor when I was growing up.

Ummmm…Im losing track of what I was going to write about…

Pictures I suppose will have to do for now…

Caleb, Josh and I played in the leaves Saturday afternoon.

Josh wore his leaf hat for the occasion. It cracks me up…his hair is the same color as the leaves!

….Caleb found this to be hilarious…

…and he also found this particular leaf to be very special and important, so much so, that I was made to take a picture of it….

…I have no idea why this leaf was the chosen one…it was just HIS leaf. ha

…oh the anticipation..ls it my turn yet? Is it my turn yet?

It was all fun and games until Josh got bit by a bug. I figure it was only because he tasted like pumpkin pie.

On Friday afternoon, I helped Evelyn and Warren make an autum fairy house. Its such a fun activity!

I couldn’t help but add the little fairy dust touches to the photo. Im sending this to the kids to say that e ccaptured real fairies on camera. Ha, I don’t know if its a good idea though…is that kind of cruel? They truely beleive in fairies. I think it should be okay, Evelyn wrote a note to the tooth fairy and her mom made up a pretend note back to her from her tooth fairy named Yariff. So it should be fine! Anyway, these are the fairy huts Evelyn and I made, and Warren made this one….

….its a little fairy nook in a tree. Look closely and you can see the glue he used to attach it to the tree. Haha…got to love it! Im not so sure how well this will hold up.

It really is a fun thing to do. I love using nature to create art. It also very relaxing and calming for me. I have always loved nature. As a kid, I just went on ahead and brought it inside with me. I had my own little nature corner set up in my room filled with rocks, twigs and such. I tried to keep toads, salamanders and fireflies as pets. I don’t think my mom was so thrilled about that. I once thought that I could make leather from dried up mud. I collected dried up mud pieces in a wheelbarrow and toted it around. Ha…needless to say my plans didn’t work. and again, I don’t think my mom was so thrilled about that one either. I remember when I was younger and thought about getting married (b/c girls like to do that sort of thing haha) I tought that I was going to get married in a forrest. Really! And of course I would gather up all the colorful weeds and make bouquets for my mom. And then there as the onion grass, I would gather bunches of that and think I had done my mom a favor by catching dinner for the evening. haha. I also used to it make orphan soup…which was water mixed with mud, onion grass and any other plant I thought was nessesary. I liked to pretend I was an orphan who lived alone and lived off the land. Actually, that was one game other kids liked to play too, so thats something I didn’t play alone. I actually can’t stand the smell of onion grass now days, I have had my fair share of it. I used the hell out of it as a kid.

I was often teased for likeing all that nature stuff, so I would try to hide it. I guess thats why I would bring it inside with me. And perhaps I enjoy using nature to create art now, because I no longer have to hide it.

So for the ones who did tease me back then, kiss my grass.

….Okay, that was lame…but I tried atleast. I will give myself one point for the effort.
