Opening

I got an email today from the new principal at the high school I graduated from. There is an opening there teaching English ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages). I would have to get an ESOL endorsement, but otherwise I could have the job.

Part of me thinks: Job offer! Take it!

Part of me thinks: You don’t want to teach there and you don’t want to teach ESOL.

What to do?

hmm. depends on how you think you’d do interacting with people who won’t really understand you all the time. I’d get impatient. but it’s a stepping stone, at the very least!!!

Don’t take it! It sounds like you know already that you’ll hate. Don’t waste your time or theirs! I hope you find something you’ll like soon!

Flip coin? *makes face*

hard choice. you could get the endorsement and try it out. or go the nerdy way i go sometimes and simply make a pro and cons lists so you can see on paper what youre really thinking.

I wouldn’t take it if you know you won’t enjoy. I’ve seen how unhappy Billy has been for so long…

Hey there! Long time no see. I say don’t take the job. As someone who’s been unhappy with her job for 5 years now, I can tell you it’s just not worth it.
