I Need Some Assistance! Edit For More Time

*EDIT* Instead of one week, I now have three weeks to do the assignment, if that will influence your ideas at all. I have much more time tow work on the assignment.

I have a book on classroom and behavior management that I have to read. Once I finish, I have to list 25 things that I learned about behavior and classroom management. The assignment is to present these things in a unique and creative manner.

There are about twenty people in my class and my teacher said that when we come to class Oct. 16th (3 weeks-when the assignment is due) everyone should have something different. No posters, no lists, nothing average or ordinary.

So I need HELP! I will take any and all suggestions about how to present the 25 things I have learned in a way that no one else in my class will think of. The only stipulations I can think of are that it needs to be something that will not cost me a fortune and someething that I can have done by Sunday night.

HELP ME! PLEASE! I beg you all.

(And if you have kids, please ask them too: what’s a unique way to make a presentation? Sometimes the most creative ideas come from kids.)

I don’t play any instruments except clarinet and I haven’t touched that in years. I thought about doing a song, but that doesn’t seem unique enough. I also thought about writing a limerick or haiku for each thing and making a poetry book, but I made a book for my literary collage so that isn’t as unique either.

THIS IS HARD.

I know this is a long shot, but you don’t happen to play guitar, do you? Because you could turn them into a goofy, easy to remember song or something. Hmmm, I’ll keep thinking and get back to you.

How about a demonstration? You could role-play with the class being a class full of kids and hand out things for them to do that you could handle that would demonstrate what you learned…? That’s the first thing that came to mind, although I’m sure plenty of other people will try to do the exact same thing, so maybe it isn’t such a hot idea.

Do you sing? I know you said a song doesn’t seem unique enough, but I think that a take off of that “Do Re Mi” song from the Sound of Music would be cool. That song is meant for instruction anyway, so the structure of it would probably work out well.

I wish I had an ounce of creativity so that I could help you. I passed on my sterile math/science vibe to my son and Tom gave Cassidy all of the creativity. And I can’t get it through osmosis. :/ I hope you come up with a great idea!

Yeah, but they don’t know that you did that, do they? I like the haiku idea. You could write a sonnet instead or something. 🙂

I thought the same thing Alka did. Role playing involving the group. That is always fun b/c you get everyone involved.

1. Role play a bad teacher and share 25 bad things you learned (opposite of the good ones). 2. Interpretive dance. 3. A 25 day fictional diary of a teacher, one point per day. Have the 25th day result in her demise. 4. Film an infomercial for the Liz Institute of Behavior and Classroom Management. 5. Bingo.

ok there are 20 people in your class and 25 things to learn. So assign each person 1 index card with the fact (5 people out of 20 will have 2 cards) then get every one in a circle and make them read the card as fast as they can, time the event to see how fast they can name all 25 — just an idea!

yn: Oh no! I am so sorry! It’s hard, esp at big universities, you can only give out so many bids, depending on graduating seniors and more often than not, we had to trim down a list from a huge list of girls we really wanted but couldn’t extend an offer to due to limited bid amounts. ugh. that sucks for her. there are plenty of other organizations she can get involved with and she won’t be involved in so much drama with that. As for the scenario- a friend of mine is on the board (she’s a speech path) and it took place back home. The outcome was an apology and a week’s worth of conferences and training on empathy. The IEP explicitly outlined not only his educational requirements but the how the hearing aid functioned as well and no one even looked at it as a reference. the parents want the kid transferred to a different classroom.
