Tomorrow my BIL is driving the hubby down to his niece’s house so he can check on the van that we are going to buy and start working Monday. Then in a few days we’ll go down there also. I heard from a few people tonight that Monday we will be allowed to go home if we won’t. As far as I know now, there is no electricity, but who knows by Monday. AJ says he doesn’t care. He just wants to go home. So I think instead of piling into one more relatives home, we will go home. We need to do a lot of cleaning and sanitizing, but it will be great to be home anyway. We just need to make sure to bring lots of water and supplies. I also heard that school will resume October 3rd. Things are going a lot faster that we were first told. I’m so happy.
Talked to the ex live in sister for the first time in a few days. She’s in Colorado and loves it there. Who knows. She might decide to stay.
Also talked to the Connecticut sister for a long time. It was nice.
I’m so awful. I know how lucky we are. I know things could be so much worse. I am very thankful for having all we have and not losing everything. Still, I’m sick of hearing it. It’s like just because we aren’t in a shelter or worse, lost someone, that what we’ve been going through doesn’t count. My problems might not be bad like others, but they are still problems. My kids have still been uprooted from everything they know. It’s still extremely hard on all of us. Just because we were able to sleep on the floor in someone’s home instead of a cot in a shelter, doesn’t mean we are coming out of this unscathed.
That’s my rant for the day.
Bye

I am *so glad* y’all will be able to go home soon, even if it will be more akin to camping in the “great outdoors.” Don’t let anyone negate what you are feeling…’cause woman, you’ve been thru some hellish crap an’ there ain’ no one that can say otherwise. So sayeth me! 😉 (((BIG HUGS))) to you & your crew ~Lys

Sounds like things are on the move. Apparently toothpaste up your nose is a good one to ward off nasty smells….(for when you head back to the city).

Well don’t let others get you down. Yes you may be a little luckier than some but still you have a lot of work ahead of you and who knows what might be ruined in the house. Cripes I’ve seen floods (2 in the last year near where I live). It aint easy. Tell those ppl to rot in H*ll and go clean up the mess if they think you have it so much easier.
