the Four Faiths
Free flow rant thats been spell checked, and I assure you no spells have been cast on this entry.
Types of faith? What drives faith, why is it sometimes in ones best interest to have faith.
Or, at least, why do people feel then need to have it.
I think I falls in to some categories,
There is Fear based Faith: the Pentecostals seem to have this train of thought down. You are a sinner, tainted by original sin, so from a fallen state you must accept grace for salvation and we are the only true dispensers of grace. You know born-again. so it is believe every little thing I tell you or you will burn in hell, or god will smite you if you anger him. (the angry and jealous god of the old testament)
Then there is Reward based faith: where the church in essence bribes you with something that is not theirs to give (the assurance of a place in heaven). It is gods roll to be our judge. To say that the priests and bishops have been vested with this power from the divine is the core of this faith. It is advantages to the faithful because it then relinquishes the need to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit, for under this faith one does not have to judge for ones self what is moral and what is not. I mean that what the whole point of the tree of knowledge right? To ensured that all decedents of Adam and Eve all had a piece of the apple in them, thus we all have the ability to ascertain for ourselves what is moral and what is not. Use your apple dont let serpents deceive.
A third type of faith is Duty faith,
Simple enough do it because it was commanded of you. Nothing more, nothing less. For some reason your moral alignment is just right where you find no need to question your faith and you find that simply accepting the faith well that is all, all you need.
There is more too this but I am to buzy thinking of the next one to
The Fourth type Faith is Love.
