Your porcelain skin under the sun

It’s summertime, I’m driving on the highway passing long stretched fields of green with trees and abandon farm houses. It smells of rain, the sky of blue sharing shades of grey, my window rolled down I touch the wind feeling it’s force rush over my whole arm but my hand takes all with ease, I take a deep breath and close my eyes only briefly,  I rock my knee back and forth, from side to side it swings pasted my car keys making them sway. Youth Lagoon – Afternoon plays over the stereo surrounding the car with it’s music notes that play so sweetly in my ears filling me with certain joy, I look over at you looking back at me, you extend your hand out to me so I reached over to be held by your hand that is always so soft, warm, and comforting. I focus my gaze back to the road letting go of your hand, you put your sunglasses on and begin gazing out the window where your elbow now firmly rests on the door the way it always does, the clouds parted enough for the sunshine to hit your face in such a way that made you so beautiful to me then, I said your name and you looked at me lifting your shades with a look of content in your eyes and hint of a smile, this was truly the moment I felt love for you. My heart warm and enriched by your glowing face, your eyes never looking through me but into me.
