Something has to give…..
I hate to B*&ch about losing weight, but I am at my wits end. I have seriously tried every “diet” “lifestyle” and “woe” and I end up stuck or I give up. My husband has been doing wonderfully we found a way of eating that works for him and something he has actually agreed to do with me for once. He’s never been obese. But he carries weight on his belly cause he is a beer drinker. He’s even given up drinking beer as much as he has. It used to be that he would cause me to cheat and now its switched. We are doing low carb/keto. I really don’t care to debate the good or the bad of this way of eating. I was on Weight Watchers before this and I lost 30lbs but I got bored and I really didn’t want to track freakin points. Problem is I, for whatever reason am one of those people that have to track, measure, and work 10x harder. If I don’t I suffer and I know this, no pain, no gain and so on. BUT why can’t I get myself together enough to continue on with it. When I’m losing weight and healthier feeling, OMG i feel great, happy and so on. My husband even knows and sees the difference. SO WHY CAN’T I GET MY SH*& TOGETHER?! oh and I belong to FB groups for low carb and keto and the next person that tells me don’t go by the scale measure yourself, I might slap because even the damn measuring tape isnt going smaller. BTW i do exercise and I’ve always exercised. I walk 5-8 miles a day and sometimes do intervels because my daughter likes to run so I do that with her too. OK rant done for now.
Sorry to hear of your woes. It really can be a difficult process. And it’s hard to give advice because what works for one person may not work for another. For me, I love to eat. For me, eating low calorie is next to impossible. I also crave sweets so the only thing that has worked for me diet wise is Keto. If I don’t have carbs, I don’t crave them. Even a little bit and I will crave them. I have been on Keto for 7 weeks. Lost 20 lb so far. I hope to lose about 20 more. I also find that sustained cardio (for me it’s running) helps me lose weight and keep it off. I was training for a half marathon 10 years ago and I could eat anything I wanted, wouldn’t gain weight. My plan right now is to continue Keto until I get to my ideal weight. Then I will go back to a more normal diet but keep the weight off with my running (I am already running 2 miles every other day but should be putting in serious mileage by the time I get done with Keto). I just remind myself of the end goal. You have to really want it. And it’s a slow process. It probably took you a long time to gain the weight, will take a long time to lose. Patience. You have to enjoy what you eat. I love omelettes. That’s the highlight of my diet every day, my omellete. Good luck!
@ramblinwreck07 oh that’s awesome that you’ve been able to lose, I hope you get to your goal. Thank you for your note. I do love omelets too! Sweets are VERY hard for me, it seems true what they say about sugar being so addicting. I’ll keep at it thank you 🙂
