I am the light in the world.

That was the message in church today. We even got glowsticks :D. We talked about missions trips and all the AMAZING things that have happened in them, 4 people who have been on a lot of them came up and spoke. It was amazing to hear their stories and it really inspired me because that has been my life dream to make a difference in the world. To be the LIGHT in the world, to bring light into other peoples lives through myself. That is why I wanna be a teacher, that is why I get so mad about how the world is today all popular music glorifying casual sex, degrading women, money over everything, focusing on material gains only, drugs and alcohol. All these kids dropping out of school (sometimes I can’t blame them because the school system is fucked up) but all these kids not wanting to learn at all, not wanting knowledge, love, god or really LIFE in their lives just material things and physical pleasure. Talking about mission trips all over the world they are going to Spain, going to Guatemala, and I know that is important to bring hope and God to these places far away and these places that are so poor people die everyday from not having food water and shelter so we can pray and heal people and inspire them to heal and pray too. But for me when I listen to the preacher speak I thought more about America and how we have EVERYTHING at our disposal, we can do anything, churches everywhere, programs everywhere to help the poor, we have the tools all around us to be the light of the world but yet we are still failing, alot of the most richest people are failing and living in darkness and they make themselves out to be idols to these young kids who have nothing else to look up to because to them church is a boring place and they’re parents might be on drugs or not very good role models, they grow up with not the best childhood, it’s so sad that all churches can’t be so youth friendly because those are the people struggling the most, living in darkness. I thought about my video that I made about degrading rappers and my second video I made about them that talked about God that I never put on cause it got fucked up too much work editing. Anyways I think of all of kari’s friends and all the young people from preteens to almost 30 (when I worked at cvs, just around my dads, etc ) just living in darkness due to these "idols" these rappers that tell them that life is so material and physical. It isn’t these kids need to know what LOVE is, what GOD is. They don’t know that GOD is all they need because He is pure love and he can satisfy every yearning you have like it said in the last sermon. People grow up thinking to be a christian it is so hard because you can never sin you cant do this you cant do that. They start fearing God and think christians are so prude and not cool and boring. They think that they’re live would be boring and hard to resist the temptation so fuck it. But in reality once you find God and the great power he has to fill you up and make you HAPPY, CONTENT, LOVED, etc. You won’t even think of those other things anymore because you know they pull you away from God and without God you know you will go back into that depression of life. So basically it’s not really a challenge anymore if you really let jesus live in your and through you in a genuine way. And plus I think people take "sinning" to hard, I mean EVERYONE who is human sins EVERYONE. Jesus died on the cross so we could be cleansed of our sins all we have to do is take him into our hearts and believe in him. i’m not saying yeah I believe in jesus then never going to church and living a horrible life. I’m saying if you really let him in your heart and thanked him for all he has given us you would live with a WWJD mentality. You WILL sin but you talk to jesus about it and he forgives you of EVERYTHING.

Anyways like I said those words reminded me of America, close to home, my family, and people around me just in the cities. Just the other day I was saying about how missions trips should be done in the U.S too because we need a lot of help! That is why I wanna go on the Mardi Gras one, not just cause it’s 1000 dollars less than the other ones.

Anyways this service also got me really inspired because not only did he talk about the missions trips. He talked about 3 ways you could start spreading that light of jesus you have inside of you and one was to just reach out in your close community, you don’t have to go around the world. Be the light and show your light to your neighbors, friends, family and community right here because he said he all know there is a lot of darkness all around us. That is what I am trying to do and that is what i’m going to start doing more. I try to reach out to sabrina, to kari, to dan, to my mom. I try to reach out through others through youtube and facebook. I always feel bad and wish there was something I could do but now I am really going to try my hardest to do something about helping these youth. Lil be sent me a message the other day on youtube, yeah lil b himself and all he said is " I don’t want you to think i’m mean". I’ve been to busy to reply but I think I will I am going to tell him everything on my mind in a non-threatening way and tell him if he really wants to be positive what I think he should do. Me and Dan talked about this.

Anyways they also played one of my favorite songs in church today 😀

Verses from church today, sometimes I put them in 2 different translations cause I feel both translations are good and could help different people understand the meaning beneath the words.

Matthew 5:14-16 (New International Version)

14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16 (The Message)

14-16"Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as pub

lic as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

Matthew 13:33 (New Living Translation)
33 Jesus also used this illustration: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.”

I jus found ur diary cuz looking for shyness & creative writing interests. From reading 2 I think youre a really wise person & you have a lot to give, saying all the insight about how people should feel more about Christianity & it being real, & I think youre great that you seem to have a purity about God & life that others arent real & deep enuf for, & u seem to be passionate & people love that!

I jus like to encourage people after I read cuz I get thoughts & its a good opportunity for the person, kina like a free hug but better :), to hear something cuz people are made for other people to speak into their potential & affirm who they are. Like I dont have any of my diaries public cuz Ive felt sick after I put them up, cuz my identity is so bad lol, but I think I might get to it..
