Mummification

I am so emotionally drained.

In ancient Egypt, part of the mummification process was to stick a hooked instrument up the deceased’s nostril and into the brain. They would swish it around, then pull the brain or allow it to drain out through the nose. Gross, yet an accurate representation of my mental and emotional state right now.

Your dead body is taken to the ‘place of embalming’. The embalmers are highly respected, because they prepare you for eternal life. In order to remove some of your internal organs, a ‘slicer’ priest makes a cut along the left side of your stomach. Your organs will be removed and embalmed separately, although your heart is left in your body — you will need this later on. A hooked instrument is used to pull the brain out of the head through your nose.
