Bad Timing

I haven’t been sick in a very long time. At least it feels like a long time. I used to be sick all the time in high school and the beginning of college. Is it just that my immune system has undergone some magical transformation? My teachers, professors, and friends used to all joke that for Christmas they were getting me a new immune system. Is it too much to credit my healthy immune system to becoming vegetarian. I wasn’t really keeping track, but looking back that may have been when my immune system actually started working.

Then again, I like to attribute all the good emotional and physical changes in my body to becoming vegetarian.

Regardless, I am sick now. It shouldn’t be that much of a shock. I did just spend a very sleep deprived couple days at a conference shaking at least a hundred hands. I should have brought some hand sanitizer.

The timing is horrible. I was supposed to go up to north Jersey today and tomorrow to volunteer with Casa Esperanza, which I decided not to do because I feel like crap and need to rest. In addition, I don’t want to spread my germs to an entire office of people and clients. Wednesday morning BW and I are going up to Niagra Falls until Friday afternoon. Neither of us has ever been despite it only being about an 8-10 hour drive. He is in his friend’s wedding in Rochester, NY on Saturday, so we figured we may as well spend a few days in Niagra while we are up that way.

This means I have exactly 32 hours to recover and feel fabulous. Okay, that may be asking a little too much. I have exactly 32 hours to be recovering and not feel like death warmed over.
