theme and variations

So, yesterday was interesting. After the hockey game, which Tappan won, by the way, I came back to my room and just kind of chilled. Meg came in here, and we talked briefly about things… then she left, and I had a really nice and long conversation with Carrie. (Thank you soo much Care – I love you – you are the best sister anyone could possibly ever ask for, and I am so thankful that you are my older sister and not the other way around… sometimes I feel like I would’ve screwed up a little sister so badly.) I also talked to Aaron and Alex really rather briefly, and then Steve D. for awhile.

You see, my evening had a theme. I was talking to my sister about not drinking… and if it was weird that our family doesn’t really do that… and just kind of rehashing through why our family doesn’t, and exploring those types of issues. That was really helpful… it just helped to re-affirm my reasons… that type of deal. Aaron said it’s not weird… Carrie doesn’t think it’s weird, just unusual. Alex is right with me… and then Steve was awesome. Steve D., who thinks girls who have been drinking are gross… who is way awesome all the time without drinking himself… gave me a little “k-dawg” lecture.

So after that, I go upstairs, hang out with Chris B. and Jeff, who had been drinking, then moved to the hallway, where Kevin the other Jeff, Dave, Dave, eventually Jeff, Josh, Meg, Alex, and Kelly. Now, all of those people were either drunk or buzzed except for Josh, Meg, and Alex… but really Alex and I were the only ones who hadn’t had anything. It was funny, almost all of my friends were drinking last night… totally opposite of home, you know? But it was fine… funny… we got yelled at by Paul for making too much noise in the hallway. Heh, but yeah, I’m learning to handle that. Oh, and the people I listed weren’t necessarily people I’m friends with (not all of them are), and it also doesn’t include people I didn’t happen to see last night who had gone to parties. So, well, yeah.
