the internet
Finally, now that I got OD to work…
The internet truly amazes me. It’s incredible how people can “meet” online and chat about anything and everything in the world. People can actually form a friendship simply by using words which are conveyed through two computers and a phone line.
Love exists in many forms, as other people have said and I have been known to say in the past as well. I never knew that an emotion so human could be translated in any of its forms through something so non-human as a phone line and a few computers. The truth is, though, that there are people I’ve never met, and may never meet, that mean a lot more to me online than some people I see every day.
Uh oh… you know where this is going, right? Yup – “You’ve Got Mail” strikes again. Same quote that I always use:
“The thing about the internet is, you’re more likely to talk about nothing than something. But I just wanted you to know that all of these nothings have meant more than so many… somethings.”
I don’t know how I could possibly say it any better to you – you know who you are.

(a rose for you, my friend)
I know in a past entry I was openly cynical about how people, although they do not try to, often cast a false perception of who they are online. I believe now that I was wrong. This is not the case for everyone. It is possible to actually know someone without ever talking, meeting, or seeing a person (other than pictures). It simply takes the right people to be able to understand each other.
I hope I brighten your day… you always brighten mine.
