speaking of my German class / prom

Speaking of my German class… Meg thinks I should go to prom with her husband. So does Kim, which I find quite humorous, and Meg told Shannon. Meg planned to talk to Seinfeld about it, which I hope she never ended up doing. At any rate, yesterday in German, I (whoops) told Mrs. Wallick that Meg was at a “Christian Woodstock.” (Sorry Meg, if you get any lectures… hehe.) Wallick compared that to being like Chris going over to my house… implying a totally ridiculous oxymoronic situation. And I was like… well actually Chris has been over to my house… twice now. (German party/English party – what?) Anyway, the point is, Meg wasn’t in class, but Shannon and I just looked at each other and started laughing. Even Mrs. Wallick realizes the incompatibility of Chris and I, and she didn’t even know that Meg wanted us to go to prom. As we walked out of the class, Shannon and I both agreed that, although it would be funny, it would never happened. Although I think that Shannon going with him would be even better. –grins-

Yesterday after school, Mom and I drove about 45 minutes to an hour away to go to this really cool mall. They have a formal store there that I wanted to check out for prom dresses. It turned out that the dresses there were either picked over quite a bit, or just all really ugly and expensive. I can’t believe how many ugly prom dresses are out there! We ended up going to a Kaufmann’s there, where I bought a black and white dress. It’s really pretty – kind of plain, but in a sophisticated way. I love it, and whoever my date will be will have it easy – no colors to match. A simple tux will look awesome with it. From the front, the body of it is black, with a little over an inch of white at the top of the chest area. It’s a fitted bodice with a flare-out skirt (nice and poofy) and spaghetti straps. In the back, the black is laced together (almost like a peasant shirt) over what looks like a white dress under it. It’s really just all one piece, but it looks really cool. The greatest part is, because it’s black, I can reuse my winter formal shoes and the new black purse I just bought. I already have a necklace that my mom gave me for prom, and I can use my mom’s sparkly earrings with the black centers. Basically, I am totally set… except for the little minor detail of having a date.

Ehh, I’m going no matter what. Monday if things are still looking hopeless (as they no doubt will be), I’m going to ask either a junior or a sophomore. Dave, Jon, Matt, Brian. That’s my line up as of right now. Note that the first is a combo member who plays trumpet in Wind Ensemble. I’m closest to Good Dave for the obvious reason that he’s in combo, and I know everyone in combo pretty well. Jon is a junior who plays alto sax in Wind Ensemble (sits by me) and goes to my church. I don’t know him too well, but he’s a nice guy too, and good friends with Good Dave. Matt is a sophomore, and Garett’s little brother. Matt and Goo I’m pretty sure think I was joking about having Matt go to prom with me, but if the juniors fall through I’m definitely going after little brothers. Brian is a sophomore, and Kim’s little brother. I think he thinks I was joking too. Definitely on my list though. 🙂
