Rays of sunshine…

My day began at 7:30. My dad woke me up; “Don’t you have band or gym or something?” “Yes Dad, I’m getting up at 10.” 9:15 – Mom speaking: “Erin, I have physical therapy, so I can’t take you to gym…” “Fine, I’ll walk or something… let me sleep!” “Oh, that’s right – I forgot you were sleeping.” “Yes, I’ll be up at 10…” “Well your sister has to go to the High School, so she can’t take you either.” “Fine, I’ll walk or something… let me sleep!” 10 – I shut off my alarm. 10:13 – My sister: “I was sent to wake you up.” “I thought you were gone and couldn’t take me.” “Well I left and came back.” “So you can take me.” “Yes.” “Fine.” So I got up and got dressed.

At 11:30, I ran. And then I ran some more. (You’re wondering, and how does the entry title have anything to do with this? Good observation…) We ran the straightaways and walked the curves of the track for two miles. In the burning heat. And getting burnt by that lovely noontime sun. Fun.

Then we went into the weight room. This made me happy, because I can finally get buff again. I LOVE lifting weights. Call me crazy, but it makes me feel really good. (I also felt important because I had to show sophomores how to use the machines and what they were called and all that… Hehe – I’m even stronger than some of the soph. guys. Not that it’s saying much…) So we did that until approximately 1:30. I came home, showered, all that fun stuff…

I then drove myself and my mother (only temps folks) to the orthodontist. Nothing much happened – they’re going to send me a postcard in January. yay.

I then drove to some house to drop off a graduation gift, and then we had to stop for frozen custard. It was a part of my “getting into the middle turn lane and turning left off of a five lane highway” lesson. (Don’t you just LOVE how mothers manage to make up excuses for ice cream?)

I went home, scarfed dinner, and drove myself to driver’s ed. Another 3 hours down the tubes. Finally I get home, log on, and am greeted by an email! And a few notes!

Jake is awesome, and they were just little rays of sunshine that totally made my day and all the pain worthwhile. So THANK YOU! I’m in such a great mood now.
