Fried Green Tomatoes. An emotional roller coaster, if I ever saw one. What a great movie. What an exceptionally great movie. I’d never seen it before tonight, or at least not most of it. I think I’d seen parts of the end, but it doesn’t make any sense without the movie as a whole. I can’t tell you how much I cried… but then again, I can’t tell you how much I laughed.

Before I watched it, Carrie compared it to The Color Purple. Watching it, I was amazed at how right she was. That book is oddly similar in plot and some themes. In fact, I’d highly suggest reading that book and watching this movie. It’s a wonderful juxtaposition. *nebeneinanderstellung*

I’m having a difficult time motivating myself to write here on a regular basis. It’s tough, because while I’ve been away, I’ve been pretty good about writing in my actual diary. When I’m home, I’d prefer to sit in bed and type on my laptop. The huge issue, is the fact that I want to store all of my entries on my laptop, and by writing on this computer, I have to somehow transfer everything. It’s hard to facilitate.

At any rate, Saturday night Sloan and I went to Borders for chai and to talk. We happened to see Jay and James as they were leaving, chased them down, and loitered outside of Borders for awhile. We then drove to Meg’s house. Her father said she was at Chris’ house, which is across the street. So we walked across the street, and Chris’s mom said they were at Steve’s house. By the time we got to Steve’s house, it was 11:30pm, but at least we found them! It was Steve, Doug, Chris, and Meg. So we crashed, and I felt kind of bad, but not bad enough. Fun times.

Yesterday I sat with Sloan, Gretchen, and Meg at church. We sat in the second row directly behind the praise band who happened to be the music for the morning. (Normally they just do the praise service in the evening.) In fact, I sat directly behind Alex, who I’ve since learned has attached himself to yet another victim and friend of all of his past victims – Danielle. At any rate, after church, Meg and I went to Gretchen’s house for lunch, and ate leftover salmon *yummy* with Gretchen, her mom, and her brother. After lunch we all got ready for the beach (at each of our houses), went to Old Navy to pick up a jean skirt which they did not have, and then went to the beach.

We were the only ones to show up from church! Quite the disappointment, but we still had fun. We stayed in the lake for about two hours, hitting around Meg’s volleyball. (which, consequently, made my arms sore today just in time for my piano lesson – not good) At one point, however, this 11-year-old girl started randomly attacking us! First of all, in a normal situation, the 18 year-olds would be attacking the 11 year-olds, and second of all – what a brat! Her sister, luckily, was a little bit nicer, but man… she just kept splashing us and calling us names. At one point we were in shallow water but kneeling down when it occurred to me we should just stand up. So we did. And it was fun – we were tall. *grins*

After the beach we all got cleaned up and put on our black halter tops and jean skirts. (Gretchen borrowed one from Meg’s mom) We then went to Liz’s party, which was awesome, because I saw everyone that I haven’t seen for a month. I felt so loved – I really did. At around 9 we left Liz’s party with Strobel in tow. Got sweatshirts, etc. from Gretchen’s, then piled into my car and headed for the last night of mardi gras to see the fireworks. They were already going when I was driving in, but eventually we got a parking spot and watched them. After the fireworks, we went back to Gretchen’s, for about the fourth time that day, and the four of us started watching You’ve Got Mail. It was great, because we’d all seen it, so if we missed something it didn’t matter, and yet we all like it. I eventually came home shortly after midnight, figuring two late nights wouldn’t go over so well with the parentals.

At any rate, I’ve been working out. I love the feeling that you have solid legs when you walk instead of pillars of jello. It’s nice…

I only remember the part with the stuck shoe and the train. And when one of the girls is on the mean guys back and he pushes himself on the wall. I had thoughts about you last night… Don’t worry, I was just watching Matrix.

666! muhahahahaha! 😉
