glamour – and friends

I was just watching Ellen from earlier this week, and she had some “plus size” models on who recently did a photo shoot for Glamour magazine. Apparently, they’ve started something new (from the response) over at Glamour, and they’re making a commitment to show more diverse body shapes/sizes. I’ve never been one to read fashion magazines, but I’m both pumped and somewhat interested now! It is kind of nice to see people who are literally my size in photo shoots.

Next up – a bunch of my coworkers are going out tomorrow night. Supposed to be “epic” – translation: they are going to get wasted. I thought about going, but more often than not I don’t like going out, and I’ve become less engaged with this particular group of people anyway. I mentioned it to Chris in passing to see if he was interested. He said, “the more we hang out with people we like, the less I want to hang out with your co-workers.” 🙂 Touche. I kind of agree with him. Lately I’ve really been thinking the same thing. The Lacy’s and the Ryan-Carlisle’s and the Walters – I can be ME around them. I don’t get judged, I don’t feel awkward, I don’t feel bad about myself. Coworkers? Reverse all of that. It’s like, why am I wasting time with people like this?

So. How do I divorce coworkers as friends while maintaining the during work hours friendships? (actually I think they may have divorced me already anyway, so it may not be an issue)

I vote for happiness!

i think if/when i get married someday, it’ll make it easier to adjust cause i’ve come to view my self as half of the “ryan-carlisle” crowd, at least in your eyes 🙂
