Ahh yes, I’m back from church camp for the final time. No more Reach Out – it’s off to college from here. But wow, what an awesome final week it was!
God is so incredibly amazing… I cannot imagine finding such awesome friends as I have found during my weeks at Lakeside – I am going to miss Becky, Michelle, and Sarah so much!!! They are awesome awesome people, and I wish I could take them to college with me. Gretchen and I bonded as usual, but with those three as well. And perhaps best of all – John and I were in the same mission group and re-discovered our friendship. I feel so much closer to him now – I am SO PROUD of him! He, Sarah, and I were all able to bond and share and pray together Tuesday night at our mission. What an incredible experience!
On a not-so-bright side of the camp experience, Thursday night I started to feel rather sick. My throat hurt sooo bad, and nurse Todd gave me some cold medication, warning me that it would put me to sleep. Whatever, I was sick. So I slept through the Broken Yoke concert, which is amazing considering it was deafening – I was sort of in a stupor. I went to bed at 9:15 (we didn’t have to even be back until 10, and lights out are at 11) and slept right through 10:30 living group devotions until morning. Yesterday morning, let me tell you, I felt worse than ever. I had been tossing and turning all night long because I was absolutely burning up and felt like crap. When I woke up, I was light-headed, and I felt like with every step I took I was going to throw up. Not necessarily the coolest thing for your last day of camp ever. I managed to shower and walk down to the nurse’s station, told Todd if it was possible, I felt much worse, and had him tell me he didn’t know what to do. I said I thought I might have a fever, and if I did I should probably consider, oh, I don’t know – Tylenol? So I took my temperature (and it’s a good thing I know how to read a manual thermometer because our good old nurse can’t do it), and found that it was 100.2. Basically, I’m sick. I took IB profin, and slept on the bed in that office right through breakfast and morning devotions. When I woke up, I felt a lot better – I think the stomach thing was because of the fever. At any rate, by today I’m bouncing off the walls with energy, and when I got home, my temperature was down to 99. Beautiful.
In other good and wonderful news – AP test scores officially in.

Anyway, God has shown me a lot of things this week. After Annual Conference in June I had already taken some steps, and this week just solidified things. It was so awesome, so very awesome. A lot of prayers were answered this week, and a lot of prayers were given this week. And next year’s PC’s? Wow – it’s the first group of PC’s I’ve ever looked at and said – they’re going to be great. Amen, Lord, Amen!
