Beethoven, Debussy, Faure… Grisham?

It’s a first! I’ve appeared on someone’s favorite’s list, and yet they never left a note… shocking! Nah, I just find it interesting. Although there might be a couple on my list that I never read let alone leave notes.

Yesterday was a very well rounded day, I must admit. I practiced, had a piano lesson, went for a long bike ride with my entire family to the beach, watched a little tv, did the computer thing, and read before going to bed. I think I pretty much hit all the true hobbies (with the exception perhaps of doing a puzzle, something I reserve for rainy, extremely hot, or extremely cold days). At any rate, I’m broken – completely sore from the waist down. Admittedly, half the problem is I’m grossly out of shape, and much fatter than I was a year ago when I was biking all the time. However, in my defense, my bike is a little screwed up at the moment. My front brakes have always rubbed once in awhile, but not normally very much while riding; however, it seems that yesterday, they were rubbing in full force. I could hear them rub, they squeaked once in awhile, and trust me, I could feel them rub. Yeah, I’m out of shape… but I really don’t think I’m quite that out of shape. Also, my seat has a tendency to go down while riding, making it very difficult to ride (without full leg extension).

At any rate, I’m sure you get the point.

My piano lesson went really well! She’s excited that I’m back, I’m excited that I’m back, parents are excited that I’m back… so we’re all just excited. She gave me three pieces to look at for the recital. Wow, I forgot how long real music can be, but I’m excited. So far, however, I love all three pieces – this will most definitely be a difficult decision. Not to mention I have less than a month to prepare one of them.

Chris is writing a new song! He recorded some of it for me last night so I could hear it – I absolutely love it. But even beyond that, it reminded me how much I love to hear him sing, and I miss that. He used to always play guitar and sing – I fell in love with him serenading us. It brings back many memories… I wonder why we ever stopped our music? I think it has been extremely beneficial to both of us to be getting back into our instruments – and actually to be reading again. So much better than watching tv all day. Now to find something we can do outside or even that just involves physical movement in some way? Hmm.. must get Chris on a bike! 😉 (I love you darling!)

So according to Weatherbug, it was supposed to be a high of 82 today with afternoon thunderstorms. Well, let me just say I haven’t seen a drop of rain, and it, in actuality, got up to 95. It’s hot. It’s 6pm and it’s still 92. You know, sometimes I think global warming can’t possibly be true with the winters we have, but then you get days like this…

I’m talking to my piano teacher online… I love technology. My mom (a public school teacher) also talks to her students online… heck my grandmother has AIM. At any rate, I just find it all very amusing and wonderful.

Dad just got home, Mom’s thawing steaks… I’m sitting on my butt. =D Pretty much all I’ve done today is read. I’m now about halfway through The Runaway Jury. It’s finally catching some speed. I don’t know why, but it just feels like this is one of Grisham’s slowest novels. Good, but a little slow.

Alright, I’m going to either continue reading or take another stab at Beethoven, Faure, or Debussy. Who will win?? (Grisham probably)
