Ahh – the life with no *electricity*

So Wednesday morning, at *4* am, my parents get me up out of bed and tell me to go downstairs. Huge thunderstorm. The wind was really horrible, and the lightning… well, you know what daylight looks like? Do you know what daylight looks like occassionally at 4 am? Well, yeah…

So of course at that hour we had no power, and eventually we went back to bed. At 5:30 my mom woke me up, and I got ready (very reluctantly) for school in the dark. I drove to school in a downpour, only to be told that, ok, it’s closed because no one has electricity. Awesome. I went home and went back to bed.

In the afternoon a few friends and I went to the bookstore and bought some books. (On our day off from school… riight.) But it was awesome, because we got hot chocolate/chai while we were there and sat and read. It also gave me something to do at home all night – with no electricity and all.

Most of the city had it by night – including across the street. But not us. OH no… we didn’t even have it this morning. I got ready for school in the dark for the SECOND day in a row. Yay. Fun.

Luckily by the time I got home today it was finally back to normal. But alas, I had to go back to school at 3 for marching band. YUCK. Ok, so we’re out there marching while it’s POURING DOWN RAIN… mud, wind, huge puddles, coldness… I think it was about 50 degrees (plus we were wet which just makes it worse). By the time that was over my shoes were soaked through, as well as practically everything else I was wearing. THe stupid ponchos didn’t really help that much.

I refused to take out my sax. A bunch of us did, because it would totally ruin the pads (which Mr. V claimed it wouldn’t), and so he said we were all considered absent because we didn’t get them out. Whatever. I’ll go talk to him and straighten it all out.

So my two orange shirts were at the Model UN today. That kind of sucked, cause I didn’t see either of them, and it would’ve been nice to try at least one on again. Oh well.
