5 day weekend, here I come

In response to Dustin:

Real snow is that snow which in fact is still pure and white. That which is not yet melting nor taking on the attributes of slush. Snow which is anything other than the snow of March which has really just built up from the past two months. Real snow is unmarred by human foot and rests daintily on all of the branches.

In further response to Dustin:

I have, in fact, written in the time that I’ve neglected this diary. In fact I believe I have around 3000 words that I’ve not posted. And the reason, believe it or not, is in fact privacy. Lol, and I still maintain my extreme hatred of “private entries”, so I refuse to utilize that option.

Let me just mention that I am thrilled and ecstatic that we have a 5 day weekend. Any more school days would have simply killed me.

Let me also mention that I opened my locker this morning to find 2 pink carnations and a coral rose. *grins* A flower for each month, and as today was like a school Friday, I got them today. May I say lovely?

It was kind of humorous… I walked into the computer lab today and was practically attacked by Mrs. Roberts asking about “that boy” she’d seen me in the halls with. She said she was playing the role of parent, and wanted to know if she would approve. Roedawg was sitting next to her on another computer and said his full name, and that she approved. That kind of relieve me, to be honest with you. Teachers tend not to see who he really is, but only that he slacks off and throws little army men. Hah… ok nevermind. It was kind of nice to stand there being discussed and embarrassed by my old teachers. They were so awesome last year… and I’m getting that entire feeling of family from it. I love that you can go back and talk to past teachers. I love it.

Meanwhile, in German, we’re watching this British movie while Mrs. Wallick is… well I don’t really know where she is. The greatest part about it is the fact that it’s in English. Not just American English, but British English. Beautiful. (Was that a Meg-ism?) At any rate, its a total chick-flick, much to the chagrin of the 5 males in the class, and it reminds us very much of a Jane Austin period movie. The Winslow Case, I believe it is called. The main female is this independent women’s rights screw the conventional “a woman’s place” ideals type of girl. And while she doesn’t know it, you can just see her falling in love with Sir Robert, is it?, who is definitely defending her brother in the case because it was simply love at first sight. Keep in mind that none of this is said or even acted out… we just know it’s happening. We’re getting a very Mr. Darcy/Pride and Prejudice – Mr. Knightly/Emma vibe, which is wholly enjoyable and relatable. I find it most amusing that all the guys poke fun at the movie, completely not realizing that that is EXACTLY what women want, or at least women like Miss Winslow, Meg, and myself. They should seriously be taking notes… but they’re mocking it instead. Typical.

And last week she thought we were a dysfunctional family. Wait until we talk about this movie. HAH. *slaps back of hand in palm three times* (You know it’s a good movie when you start to get all feministic in the middle of the movie and make wild gestures at the men in the movie, meanwhile falling in love with the man who the woman [portraying yourself] can’t stand for some reason or another. Hehe…) I’m not sure I can wait 5 days to see them fall in love. This could be frustrating.

If I don’t write before then (the odds are favorable), then I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving! I’m off to be

Log in to write a note

Hey, I love your diary its original and straight forward. I know that might sound kinda like I’m just saying it to get a note or whatever but I mean it you got a great diary! Maybe you could check out my diary some time….of course you don’t have to!-Ebony

GRRR We always have to do American authors in our English class and we all know that EVERYTHING good is British (refer to my latest entry). But yeah, it’s annoying. You should read A Clockwork Orange, it’s some good stuff.

ah. Yes, I’m scrambled, still, but don’t say that too loud, I could get in trouble. As soon as my entry was saved, I left to explode in the toilets.
