I woke up at 10 this morning… on my own. This in itself was strange – but perhaps what was stranger, was the fact that I actually got up out of bed at 10, when I could’ve easily gone back to sleep with no disturbance. Regardless, I got up and noticed that my left ear… just couldn’t seem to hear. It felt stuffy, but seeing as how when I had a cold in Rochester a week and a half ago, the same thing happened, I wasn’t that concerned. I made myself a piece of toast, logged online, then took a shower. A nice long… emphasis on the long… hot shower. Until toward the end of it, I became unnaturally dizzy. I had to put my arm against the shower door at some points to keep myself from spinning, and rinsed my hair as quickly as possible. I barely dried myself off… it was all I could do to keep stable and on my feet, then sat in the bathroom for awhile, mustering the courage to walk down the hall to my bedroom.

Eventually I stood up and bent down to retrieve my pajamas. Bad idea when you’re dizzy… I almost toppled head over heels twice because of it. I walked to my room, sat on my bed, and proceeded to become rather worried about myself. Thinking maybe it would help, I lied down on my side… another bad move. The movement made me dizzier, and whenever I tried to lift or move my head from its side, the room spun and my head felt heavy from it. Again I waited until I could find courage to spin, sat up, and waited for my mom to return.

She walked in, I called down to her, she came up, I started crying, she flipped out, and helped me get dressed. I was then moved to the downstairs sofa bed, where I continued to be abnormally dizzy. Eventually after she left, I fell asleep for a couple of hours, and woke up feeling only slightly light-headed, but much much better. (This remains the situation.) At any rate, I went to the doctor just to make sure. She said my ears were fine, and pretty much everything was fine. *sigh* Maybe I’ve finally inherited the family dizzy curse.
