Something is better than nothing :-)

I was upset with my VP and line HR manager and was pushing for my promotion. I had a meeting with HR for the same, which she cancelled at the last moment, typical HR attitude lol.

I left for another meeting at corporate where we all were supposed to meet our Asia Pacific CIO from Japan who gave us a good boring lecture as top management always does lol. But she really had an impressive personality, though she was skinny and short, but her confidence, experience and knowledge was speaking for herself. I was impressed the way she carried herself. She was not very old, probably, early 30s only but has been handling such a critical and important role very nicely.

Yeah, now, I come to the point, I praised her so much as she gave me the “IT Excellence” award haha. Yeah, I didn’t get the promotion so they tried to please me by giving me this award and honestly, I did nothing so great that I should have gotten that award lol. But I am happy; it always feels nice when your efforts are recognized and appreciated, but I’ll keep pushing for the promotion too lol. I am not gonna be satisfied with this lollipop.

On another note, today is ShivRatri, another festival for Hindus lol, I am fasting today as I am a firm believer of Lord Shiva, I don’t know the logic behind fasting today because as per the Hindu mythology, he had gotten married this day so why to fast, why not eat a lot and enjoy but I guess, beliefs and such faiths are beyond logic and debate so it’s fine with me. Mummy called me in the morning and told me it was ShivRatri today so I am fasting haha, I am a momma’s boy lol.
