Finally back…
Well, here I am… After an absence of nine years.
Nine years ago, in 2011, I first came on this diary. I was a young 25 yo Russian girl, very poor, lonely and sick with tuberculosis. I had messed my life up. And, being isolated, I started to study the English language on my own.
My first posts on here must have been very funny, as people laughed at what I was writing. Of course I sucked at it. It makes me feel embarrassed to read my previous posts, so I have opened a new account.
What has been going on during the nine years? A lot. I learned English and migrated to Australia. I was married to an Australian guy, not for long, though. My life in Australia was miserable. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore and returned back to Russia. Again I was poor and homeless, but happily I met my second husband, Dima. Now we have been married for four years. We don’t have kids, but it’s another story…
Now, due to the covid situation we are self-isolating at home. And so I’ve remembered my first old diary and people from here who helped me learn English. Owing to them I can translate my books and stories into English on my own, even though, I suppose, I might still be making some mistakes.
Here I’m going to post some of my stories. And probably share my thoughts and my life with you.
Welcome back 🙂

Welcome back. Don’t feel embarrassed. We all started somewhere. I speak spanish as a second language and I know sometimes I totally botch it. 🙂
English is not my first language either and I know it is somewhat stilted. Yet I want to expand the circle of my readers so I’m translating some of my books from Russian. I’m going to start posting one of them on here.

Welcome back! Open Diary has been so important in my life since I first wrote here in 1999. There are many very kind and supportive people who form a close-knit community..
Looking forward to reading more from you. And your English is very good.
