Yoakum B&B

I’m staying the night in Yoakum, in a very quaint bed and breakfast. I love staying in bed and breakfasts because there is SO much character to them. It feels weird to stay in a town like this. I could’ve walked to Subway tonight. That’s nuts! The house creaks when I walk across it, the windows give me a funny glare when I walk past them and the bathtub has legs. Legs I tell you! I’m a city girl, can you tell?

Tomorrow, I need to be in the town over, in Cuero, for a 7:45 a.m. appointment. I feel like Phil Connors, (Bill Murray) in the movie Groundhog Day. Ever seen it? This is one of my top 5 films you know. Phil stays in a small town called Punxsutawney. When he’s first stuck there, he hates it, but then he loves it in the end because he gets to know the people and the places. I think that is similar to me now. I’ve been through here numerous times, but it was only today that I took a good look around. It really is beautiful.

My shower looks EXACTLY like the one in the movie Groundhog Day… minus Murray…

The town is so similar to Punxsutawney…ahhh!

^ This is probably the type of lady that owns this B&B. Ha!

Welcome to Yoakum! yeah!

^ And it hasn’t changed in the slightest.

The owner of the b&b isn’t here. I’ve gobbled down my Subway and am now on beer #3. What can I say, there was no wine in the local grocery. I look like some crazy person downing beer. Maybe I am!

Ok so, I don’t know how you’ll comment. Say whatcha want. I think this is the tipsy-ness coming out of me. Imagine having a conversation with me. I’d talk about b&b’s and Groundhog Day and all of the funny parts in it.

Ok, I’m out.

Small towns are neat every now and again. I usually like going to the antique shops.

That’s always been one of my favourite films. The first time I saw it was round my sisters 🙂 Hope the meeting went O.K?

Groundhog Day is highly underrated; granted I’m madly in love with Bill Murray. And you’ve motivated me to spend my next “vacation” weekend at a B&B. Haven’t been to one in ages. Cheers!
