Autumn Already?

Classes have been going well so far. My favorite classes are learning how to teach geography and history. The other ones seem a little useless in many respects. In the past 2 weeks or so, it feels like I have learned nothing that I didn’t already know. Ok, so that’s an exaggeration. I have learned lots so far in my Students with Exceptionalities. In that class, we learn how to incorporate people with learning disabilities into our regular classes. It’s interesting.

My other classes don’t really seem to be teaching anything of use. Maybe soon it’ll all make sense.

Besides that, I have been meeting new people in my program, met up with my friends already in the city, and had Krys visit for a weekend. All of this has been really nice. When Krys was here, we visited Parliament Hill, walked around Byward Market, walked around downtown, went on a Haunted Walk of Ottawa (it was alright) and went apple picking and make an apple crisp….which I ate most of…obviously.

I think this weekend I am going to be meeting up with some friends for a day to walk around the Gatineau Hills. Apparently they are really nice, so we’ll see!

I also want to apply to volunteer with the Canadian Hunger Foundation. Basically, the position involves visiting schools throughout Ottawa giving presentations on the plight of rural poverty in the developing world. I think the application is due Thursday, so I should really get on that one.

Besides that, not too much new to report. I’ll have to try doing a better job at updating and just rambling and such. Maybe some day.
