5 days left
Today marks my five- days- left mark. It’s kind of scary yet exciting. I’m really gonna miss Halifax and am not going with joy. However, I am excited to see Justin in August, start school, and sit on a beach- and see Toronto, again haha. Seeing my family will also be really nice, but as we all know, I can only take so much of them…but it will be good.
My friend Kayleen (friend from Wasaga) was here for a week. We had a good time. I had to work alot, so she had to explore much of the city by herself, but on we still hung out in the mornings and my days off. We went to Peggy’s Cove, Lawrencetown Beach, and all over the city. There was alot of walking to do. We also went to Dartmouth a few times to have a croissant from a cafe, Two If By Sea. They were AMAZING!!! Massive, delicious, and buttery…mmmmm butter. We also saw the farmer’s market in the Brewery, and went on the Harbour Hopper. All in all, I think she really enjoyed herself. By the end I was starting to get annoyed by the constant complaining about the hill you have to walk up to get from the downtown to my house. The first few days were fine, but then it was just like- you’ve been here few 3 days…get over it! And the ridiculously slow walking. But besides all of that, it was good.
Oh, we also went whale watching. Kayleen, Krys and myself went. It was really cool. We saw quite a few seals, a few porpoises, and a whale, and minke whale. $20 very well spent. It was also really nice just being on the water looking at the coast and such. Loved it all.
In the next few days, I have to clean my room, pack, finalise travel plans back to Ontario, work, and try to say good-bye to Halifax and everyone. I have a work dinner to go to on Sunday. It should be good. It’s only gonna be a few ppl from the Produce department. I think it will be fun.
After being here for so many months, I cannot find anything that I want as a souvenir or gift to myself. There’s really nothing that stands out for me. However, I did by a glass that’s a normal size glass but it says "Nova Scotia Shot Glass" on it haha. It made me laugh, and with the ‘importance’ of drinking in this city/province, it’s fitting.
Next update: my return to Ontario and trip to Cape Breton Island!
safe travels!!
Warning Comment
*sigh* feeling your pain on the packing. How the hell did I accumulate so much stuff, I’d like to know? When I packed my stuff from my last apartment, it fit in 6 bankers boxes and a hamper. Now I’ve got stacks of boxes everywhere!
