30 Days/ Best Friend

I found this list in someone else’s FOD and decided that I am going to attempt a solid month of updates using these as criteria for writing about.

I’m not really sure how I define a best friend. I guess someone you can tell anything too without fear of judgment, someone who knows your secrets, and someone who is always there for you- regardless of the situation- save maybe criminal activities. Anyway, currently my best friend is my girlfriend Krys. We have been together for over 3 roller coaster years.

I have to say that I hate the terms "girlfriend" and "boyfriend". They just seem to cheesy and high schoolish. I’m not sure what else to refer to her as- I also despise the term "partner". As soon as I hear it, I assume same-sex couple. I don’t care if you have a same-sex or opposite-sex partner…just say it. Society needs to get over their hang-ups about it all.

Anyway, back on track.

Krys has been my best friend for a few years now. Once I met her, everything came together. I finally met someone that I felt that I could tell her anything; someone who seems to understand me and my crazy thoughts. My friends in the past have always been there, but I always felt reserved from telling them everything. I’m sure that has to do mainly with my lack of ability to trust people completely.

So the long and short of it is: Krys is my best friend and I wouldn’t trade her in for the world.
