getting back on track

Well, we’ve survived the Christmas holiday.  Actually, it was very enjoyable.  Everyone loved the gifts we got them and we got some nice gifts as well as money and gift cards.  I’ve read that gift cards are "tacky" or "scream I don’t know what to buy" but I honestly love them.  We already used one to buy a DVD repairer and some groceries LOL

Now, we can look forward to the new year.  Personally, I’m looking forward to doing a little knitting for myself and making some other crafty things to attempt to sell.  I’m still thinking about starting my own cleaning business, but lately my back has been bothering me so much that I don’t know if that’s going to be feasable.  I guess we’ll see.

I’m going to try some self help with the back before I go back to the doctor.  I’m also having ongoing ear problems, so I’d like to work on one thing at a time.  I feel like when I go to the doctor with multiple complaints, none get the doctor’s full attention and I just look like a hypochondriac.  But, that is my paranioa about doctors.

So, for my back, I’m going to order some newer, better bras.  I’m also going to look for better shoes.  But first, I’m going to try inserts in the shoes I have now.  I’ve already bought the inserts because I needed more coushioning.

I know that loosing weight would help, but if I can’t walk in the mean time, how am I going to loose any weight?  it’s a real catch 22.

I’m also thinking about all the home improvements we’re going to have to undertake in the new year.  We really need to rip up all the carpet and replace it with something easier to maintain, yet affordable.  Right now we’re leaning towards peel and stick tiles.  We’re going to have to repair some of the subflooring too… we have some soft spots.  Additionally, we need to repair the gravel driveway again (the hole is getting big again), redo the furnace / air conditioning ductwork and I’m thinking we need to have the septic tank pumped too.  Home ownership is such a pain sometimes, but that’s life.
