Gearing up to go back to work

I really don’t want to, but I have to.  I haven’t been able to find anything else yet, so back I go. I guess I should have started looking sooner, but I didn’ t want to be applying when there was no way I was able to work.  I mean, I just resumed driving a week and a half ago.  Plus, the idea of having interviews when I was barely able to dress myself was pretty scary too.

So I’m still putting out applications / resumes, but definitely going back to the pet store for at least a little while.  They’re desperate to have me back, but can’t do anything about giving me a raise or promotion or any compensation.  At least they’re willing to work with me on scheduling (for now at least, we’ll see how well they hold to that), which opens the doors for a second job.

I have found a second job, cleaning an office building (where my mom works LOL).  It’s actually work though, not just goofing off.  It only pays $80 a week, but that’s not bad at all for 4 hours of work (provided I can keep it clean in only 4 hours a week of course).  Basically, I’ve started my own small business cleaning offices.  I’m thinking about giving it a couple months and if I like it and I’m capable, trying to add a couple more offices.  For now, I’ll stick with the one (it’s big and dirty!).

It’s weird, but this is actually a really good job for me and my illness, it’s only 4 hours a week, 2 on Tuesday, 2 on Friday or Saturday.  They prefer that I come after 5 (score!), after most of them have left for the evening (yay!), and i can pace myself.  Do something strenous for a little while, then something light.  It is a good workout though… especially when you try to clean fast.  That’s really a plus though, I need more exercise.

I’m thinking that if I could keep up the cleaning and switch to a different, better part-time job I’d be set.

I’m still going to work on getting my hobbies to be profitable too… anyone want to buy a scarf?
