Diagnosis at last

Rob got his MRI & MRA the other day… Wednesday I think, they’re all running together now.  It was the day that I spent 6 hours in waiting rooms, finished a scarf and had nothing left to knit and got stuck watching comedy central for a couple hours while my toes went numb from sciatica…  yeah, that was a fun day.  I’m pretty sure it was Wednesday.

Thursday, we picked up the records from Riverview (which included someone else’s record mixed in with Rob’s!), went to the insurance company to find out that they hadn’t transfered our policy over,  (like they said they would, 2 weeks ago).  Then we went across the street to see about getting my cell phone replaced (if had an accident…).  The lady there made me call their insurance company from their phone, they told me I had to pay a $50 deductable, $25 overnight fee and wait until Monday to get the phone (defeats the purpose of over nighting it!).  Their phone died before I could make the payment, so I went back to the corporate store where I got my phone.  There they looked at me funny and told me I had only had my phone for 2 months.  So they replaced it for free and reccomended that I not return to the other store (no shit!).

Today, we finally got to see the nuerologist.  Rob had a stroke.  It’s not even his first!  He’s had another somewhere along the line.  I think it was last year when he almost bled to death.  Anyway, it was pretty miserable.  The nuerologists wasn’t very nice to us, didn’t think that Rob needed any treatment or rehab, but wrote him a note for another week off work then returning with restrictions, then ordered a bunch more tests.

So we’ll spend all week next week tracking those tests down.

She also said he needs to stop smoking and loose 200 pounds.  Of course she didn’t offer him any help with these and acted like they could be done overnight…

Then, my new cell phone died.  So I took it back, and it started working!!  We stopped by my work to get my check and it stopped working again.  As soon as I got back to the store (again) and handed it back to the same lady I had talked to earlier, it started working again.  She replaced it for me though.

How scary! I hope everything turns out okay.
