Life-changing experience

Last week was so amazing. I took 9 of our youth group on a mission trip. One of the men from the church went along as the boy’s chaperone. We had the most wonderful experience! What we were doing was building repair projects, painting, yard work, cleaning, etc. The experience is called Carolina Cross Connection, and they make the whole thing so moving.

Each day began with a 7 am wakeup call, with breakfast served at 7:30. Then we had morning devotions, then got our day’s assignment and hit the road. I was paired with a man and 3 youth. We had the best time! All the way there and back, we would sing 80’s songs and just laugh and talk.

The people we met were so lovely, and it just made me feel so good to help them. I know the youth from my church felt much the same.

Each night we would have dinner and then wonderful worship experiences. I really felt uplifted!

On Friday night we had a campfire and groups could do skits, sing, any kind of talent. My group did an original rap written by myself and one of the teens. So much fun!

It always feels good to help others!
