his has been an interesting couple of weeks, and I’m emotionally drained. Last week my mother was taken to the hospital with a possible stroke. She stayed for a few days, but is home now and doing pretty well. She does have a small blockage in her carotid artery, but she is going to take an aspirin every day, and she will be checked again in a few months.

Then my husband had his creatnine elevated, and that was scary, because it can be the sign of early stage kidney failure. The doctor is checking him again in 6 months, but feels like it’s going to be okay.

Today my only brother had surgery for a brain tumor. That was a very scary deal! The operation usually takes about 5 hours, so it scared us to pieces when they were done in just over an hour. We were sure that things had gone horribly wrong. It turned out that the tumor was large and aggressive, so the doctor took extra skull away to get at it. Then something rare happened, and the tumor just popped out. No scraping needed! He will be in ICU for several days, but it looks promising at the moment.
