Happiness is..

opening up my plan book to do my lessons for next week and seeing that I apparently was on the ball last weekend and had done them already! Joy! I love the little things I do for myself. This week at school is going to be interesting. Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be “normal” days. I haven’t had a “normal” day yet with 18 fifth graders, but there is some semblance of it occasionally. Anyhow. Wednesday we start the morning off as usual. Morning work, music, math (we have a test, and let me tell you my students are NOT happy about that), PE, DARE, some reading and writing, and then lunch and then we have our party. It’s going to be fast paced and I’m not sure how much I’m actually going to get done. The kids are already wacky just because of the weather and the upcoming holiday. Things could get interesting as I start to improvise to help keep their attention on school rather than later this week!

good luck! Sounds challenging!

Wow, they still do DARE. I remember that back in middle school in the late 80’s. However, nowadays most of the funding has been cut and schools don’t offer it. Do you have to call your pary a “winter celebration”? Or can you actually say “Christmas Party”? Someplaces are really picky about the wording of things.
