Wedding and Other Business…

So that’s that, over and done with!

It went Okay I guess,  it just felt very fake to me, and gave me tips for what NOT to do at mine.  I’ll post some pic’s tomorrow when I get my hands on the day pic’s.  I did some of the night time ones.

Mike’s had his hair cut and it looks the business.  (yummy).

When we came out of the registry office, to take the photo’s a dog got ran over right in front of us.  The dog looked to be fine, but eesh.  Bad timing.

Me and Mike had a bit of a falling out, that escalated (naturally) and has caused a bit of an upset between us.  Nothing major, but one of those things that just got worse through lack of communication.  I’ll write a proper wedding entry with the accompanying pictures.

I have been taking on sick/mistreated reptiles, (something I would like to do with animals in general as a career, but I’m not sure of the job title.)  A while ago, I took on Bobby, a very sick Leopard Gecko, who is now doing very well thanks to my round the clock care. Then my local pet shop gave me Rocky – A 2 year old Leopard Gecko who had been badly mistreated and given to them.  He was skinnier than I’ve ever seen a Gecko (Though not as bad as some I have heard.)  and was as small as a baby.  My personal theory is that he had been acquired off a breeder as a baby, and never learn how to feed properly, so struggled through.  He was doing really well, (strong) but still not eating like he should and has been really sluggish for a couple of days.  Unfortunately when I came to him last night he had died.

I’m gutted,  but I know its probably better this way.  With a job like that, your never going to be successful with every patient (Though it won’t stop you trying).  With all the best intentions in the world, some just won’t/don’t make it, and I guess that was my Rocky.  I get that.  Mike, having worked with animals forever, is a bit desensitised to death, and though i will probably be one day, I don’t want to be.  I could help but cry when I held his little body, and thought of the brilliant personality that is now gone forever.  I hope Rainbow Bridge (see for scooby entry) really does exist.  There will be a zoo waiting for me 🙂  I hope the little guy gets a better chance if there is reincarnation though.  Poor Rockster.  The only good thing I can say for those who owned him, was that if they hadn’t mistreated him, I’d never have met the beautiful little guy.

Wow, what a depressing entry.  Dogs run over, and dead geckos.

Love to you all xx

Glad to hear the dog was very lucky, but that’s sad about the gecko 🙁

I love that you’re taking care of our little reptile friends. Very sad that one didn’t make it, but you’re doing well 🙂

The poor gecko. I’m not much for reptiles but I don’t like to see any animal being mistreated. I’m glad they had a good home with you.

RYN: But you’re wrong Emmy darling, that did help. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too – how awful for you. I wish I could help honey. Lee Mee xXx
