The Price of Pleasure – a film review

Ok, so from the onset of this film the stance the director took was one of negativity and in all honesty I am not surprised. Women in this industry for the most part are low valued commodities and the directors heading the cinema generally garnering more money.

One thing which I thought was skewed was that they did not opt to discuss not even briefly the direction of film by women which if you are a subscriber to a few porn related merchandising sites (Adam & Eve to name one) have this as an option.

But before we delve further let’s review a few facts:

-Both sexes choose to engage in this profession

-The sex industry itself does not prevent opportunities for people to engage in other trades/professions/careers, therefore one’s selection of the porn industry would suggest desperation or the belief that having sex for money is ok.

-It is sex for money.

-it is sex for money between consenting adults.

-It is sex for money between consenting adults on tape.

-Just like any other profession there are contracts and the choice to not do certain types of scenes (anal, dp, atm, rape fantasy, etc) is up to the indivual actor/actress. But at the same time the narrower in scope your talents are the less opportunities are available for you.

There happened to be a focus on the act of anal sex which from one view may seem bestial by nature however some people; this diarist included, enjoy it. Contrary to what you may think there are women who do enjoy it and more times than not this particular desire isn’t one divulged on your saturday afternoon coffee clutch with the girls. Alot of women I know don’t like it but that doesn’t make it wrong or evil.

Is there an aspect of sex which is purely master/slave and the assertion of dominance? Yes of course there is and then there is the part which is beautiful and deep in nature but the fundamental part of sex which both share is that both yield the product of satisfaction.

Sometimes the assertion of control in the bedroom is exhilirating and the limit one can take their partner to. Often throughout this film they touch upon the theme of female exploitation and as much as that is true within that forum what is carried through to reality isn’t the same bitter angry sentiment. Men aren’t always seeking to have their woman down on her knees bleeting like a sheep before it’s shipped off to the mutton factory.

Not all kinds of porn is a turn on, just as not all women are attractive to every man.  This whole smacking nonsense that goes on some porn isn’t my scene.  Deep throat =not a problem, anal = not a problem,  rape fantasies = BIG problem. The fact they put this subject into a porno isn’t ok with me. My cousin once sent me a porn clip as he always has in his late night e-mail bombings and this one video with a girl getting smacked in the face between thrusts of this guys cock into her mouth is on my screen and I’m like what the fuck is this shit? I e-mail Mike back and say to him "do you really like this shit? what would Stephanie say?" a big sorry email was the response and that he wouldn’t send that stuff to me.

We men do have limits to what we like and the act of sex is natural and normal, some women have matching appetites, others don’t.

Then they spoke about AtM = Ass to Mouth, yeah I don’t have to explain further do I?

One word = unsanitary

Two more words = frequent showers

Not my bag of kitties folks.

Do you want your son to treat women like crap? Of course not but you don’t exactly let a television raise your child do you?

Do you want your daughter to be the neighborhood doorknob? Of course not, so why would you let a pornographic film dictate how they should behave? That is your job.

Eventually kids become adults and have sex, hopefully in that order too but not always and through some stumbling and mistakes they’re going to learn what they like and don’t like.

If they have poor role models that mistreat women or act like whores they might come to believe this behavior is ok.

Fact – It’s not ok.

Fact – People’s sexual appetites are their own and as long as they are safe and respectful of one another they shouldn’t be judged on what they like.

Should the porn industry be blamed for erosion of social morays and behavior?

Or should society falling asleep behind the wheel be blamed for the bolstering of the porn industry and it’s acceptance into normal American life?

okay, g’morning. anything between two consenting adults privately is their business. i love making love, and that term can encompass a lot of facets of play! where you and i differ is i believe the business, profit making end of it, like they say, forces pushing of the limits further and further, and like sheep, the masses just accept it. atm. think about what they said about that. the trend

March 11, 2010

the area open for pushing the limits, is violence. the trend is to degrade, dehumanize. why do you think anal has become ‘normal’? not that i have any judgement on that, but i just think you and i don’t see eye to eye on how this huge commercial industry is leading men and women to have warped unhealthy views of the value of themselves and each other. thanks for taking the time to share.

most (i know their are exceptions, but really, be honest) porn, that PORN HAS BECOME THE SOCIETY norm. and it is purely a profit driven phenomenon, without care as to what it is doing to society. in fact, with full knowledge by the CEO’s of what it is doing to society. Arg. i just actually feel that ignorance and closed eyes are scary in this, because it is the kids that lose. All done.

porn is definitely not to blame for the ‘degeneration of society’ or whatever people like to call it. porn only responds to the public’s demand. if everyone thought that anal was wrong and disgusting and didn’t want to hear of it then it wouldn’t be ‘normal’ in porn. the thing people need to realise with porn is that it’s just a visual of a sexual FANTASY…

not a guide of how to have sex or treat women in real life. although some porn can be good for ideas for new things to try! there are some women like me who love being ‘degraded’ and slapped around during sex. as long as it is clearly acting out a sexual fantasy, not true violence or degradation, then it definitely shouldn’t be judged by others.
