Steel & Saws
Yesterday evening was chest & back and I managed to retool my work out the night prior and it paid off. My bench press maxed at 225 and while I wanted to dare to 245 at my initial hoist I just knew that (without a spotter no less) it wasn’t going to happen as my muscles humbled to the weight. Next round of chest/back I’ll be starting higher in my weights to meet this mark. The more I hit this weight the more commonplace it will be and thus make my way upward. This was the highlight with my back exercises with no standouts just being a plain muscle pumping fiesta. I left feeling bullet proof and dangerous as if I could dent a car with a careless swing. Yes, I know this is inflated ego speaking but damn, y’gotta feel like the hulk on days like this.
Little Joe is doing well. I watched him last night with a 1:30am wake up for bottle & diaper that only lasted a half hour which is the norm from start to finish. He took 5.5 ounces.
Morning came and Nina was up with him and I for once slept in. Usually Nina will sacrifice the friday into saturday shift so she can sleep in until 8:30. It was odd to be in bed still at 8:30, I guess being awake with my son at that hour has become so routine for me that I sort’ve wondered what he was doing.
The day consisted of chopping up the two downed pine trees from the storm and systematically delimbing & carting them to the front of the property for carting by the town. I think I made 30 trips with my wheel barrow before I was done.
I also landed that load of wood from work which I loaded in the rain on Friday which wasn’t fun but I had to get it and now it sits with the rest on the side of the house waiting to be split. Can’t split until I set up the two telephone poles that were on the property next door, they’re 16’0" long and will make a nice rack for my firewood. If I didn’t have access to my dad’s truck I wouldn’t be able to have gotten this load of timber, makes me want a truck even more. It isn’t like we won’t need wood next year or the following years. It will be an issue every year.
Nina brought little Joe outside and we had his pack & play set up so he could watch us both. Nina was working in the garden, our sugar snap peas are sprouting and we will need to plant a few other things soon if we want to stay on top of everything. Joe’s been so talkative lately so we try to engage him real conversation, not that goo goo baby talk that some parents end up doing. Don’t get me wrong I did in the beginning too but now that he’s verbal I want him to learn as best as possible.
We decided to split one of the garden beds since they’re all two levels and will be doing more veggies which will be good. The less we have to buy the better and when we dedicated ourselves on the garden 2 years ago our yield was intense.
My tomato plants should be coming in the next two weeks I hope and then…..upside down tomatoes!
Ok, enough of me for tonight as I am a tired mess…
ive got my tomato plants ready; one for an upside down…it did so well last year we’re doing it again
