Shitty events…
Yesterday – As I roll in from my parents I step out of the car to hear a hissing sound. Not just any hissing sound but the HISSING SOUND OF DEAD TIRE. So with explatives and fist wringing out of the way I make quick work of getting everything out of the boot and getting down to business of changing out the tire for the spare.
You see I’m smart though because I invest in tire insurance through goodyear. It really has paid off since I have now flattened 2 tires in a two month span.
Each tire costs almost $200.00 without labor
Tire Insurance – Under $10.00
They even insure tires they didn’t sell me. Now everytime I flat a tire a small dance of joy happens in my head as I have technically beaten "the man".
Today – After ignoring the swelling/rumbling sensation in my ears I have broken down and admit there is something wrong. Most likely an ear infection of some kind whether it is simple fluid build up or what I am not sure. Tomorrow will prove interesting with my m.d.’s offive being a slow move mess especially in the afternoon and the interview at 5:30 in Commack. If I can get this job they would end up teaching me 20/20, a cabinet program which would be another credential and lend some degree of flexibility with work opportunities.
Otherwise today I watched my boss Rick have two small jobs come back with errors. Simple edge profiles and fixable but he is not the kind to make mistakes.
EVER.
He is downright meticulous, more than I am with my work and to see him in this way reminds me of the scene from Rocky IV:
"You see? You see? He’s not a machine, he’s a man, he’s a man"
I don’t have any animosity for my boss but it is good to see he can be wrong sometimes. We will often disagree on how something should be done but in the end we get the work done.
Other than this little Joe is asleep and I’m waiting for Nina to make her way home.
Oh and don’t think I forgot about the photos of the little man from Easter, those will be coming up probably tomorrow when I upload them from my dad’s camera.
Bosses…I just stay out of there way, I never know how to interact with them. Our new one seems like such a by-the-book stickler..I’ve never been in any of the managers inner circle of asskissers. Not missing much, besides laughing at dumb jokes and pretending I ‘love’ my job. RYN:Purveyor of fine bootag-…OH YOU..
