Midnight Memory
Mantled in shadow with eyes agaze as snowflake encases tree, bough and hillock in pristine calm.
Fingers ride the air as pinpricks of cold brand my cheeks with their numbing calm.
It is midnight again, upon that expansion bridge as the snow dances in lamp light
Wondering where you are
You wondering why I’m not there
Imbibing booze as we go to salvage some remnant of this wrecked youth….
I will always carry a part of it with me, or rather, it carrys me with it; I’m a liar and I’ll spend an eternity aboard this ship. Thats the best way I can put it, the idea of it not being there-, no that just does’nt make sense, I see what your saying though…but i’m just this side of ‘past saving’.
