A few thoughts
Lately my entries have been orbiting around the idea of men and women, their roles in regards to one another and the stigma which is drawn from poor examples of men & women.
I don’t know what comes over me each time I see an entry within OD which reads along the lines of ” Men suck/ Why do they do this?/ All men are assholes/ Men must die ”
As much as the comments are obviously focused on a few particular bunch of men it seems that the anger and distraught nature of the diarists draws me to respond as I take it as a personal attack.
Now one might question why?, especially with myself involved in a healthy relationship and away from the dating game. I just think about my own experiences while dating, trying to get past the whole stereotypical facade which had been shackled onto the entire male populace. Keep in mind the college I went to was predominantly female, the ratio was 13 females to 1 male. And yes there was a definate feminist movement there, covert at best. If you had an extra appendage in your lower abdominal region you were viewed with distrust, a veritable cadet of the future Rapists of America . It was tough to be there, especially when an english composition class portrayed males in a negative light each and every time. Nothing positive, the woman was the victim, the male was the assailant. Perhaps I leave from there bitter yet I find myself ultrasensitive to such ignorant, narrow minded regards of men. We aren’t all bad.
Saw you on the front page…had to comment. Obviously, not all men are assholes…however, many many men are. And they are raised that way. Ah, boys will be boys, etc…

…young boys not held accountable for thier actions, frat boys behaving like fools, colleges not doing a thing. That’s where the distrust comes from.

There’s no denying that there are good men out there…I personally love men. But to say that a frightened, bitter persective on men is ignorant? That’s just wrong.
Warning Comment
just re-read all that rambling of mine…hope you don’t think I’m attacking you there. OK, that’s it. Thanks!
Warning Comment
I’m rather glad to have a response, especially by a more mature female.

Yet again, recollect your thoughts on this. I’m focusing on the mythos of the evil man syndrome and the human female response and how it affects men who strive against this syndrome.
Warning Comment
first, ryn: hell yes it is…:) now: mythos you say? hmm. yeah, it sucks for the truly good guys, especially when you’re 24 and all the girls are going for the assholes.
Warning Comment
The best thing for the truly good to do is to stay good…don’t take it so personally. Most women eventually figure out that our pre-judgements are our own issues, not the guys.
Warning Comment
also, I think you need to read a bit of history and realize that throughout time, it’s the men who have done the majority of raping, murdering and warring. And that’s a load of baggage, friend.
Warning Comment
There are plenty of women that are jerks. Not all men are jerks. Not a lot of men are jerks. Just the bad experiences that you have with them makes you generalize.
Warning Comment
I would say that there is no excuse in the phrase, “They were raised that way.” You can see right from wrong. Good from bad. Hurt from joy. I love men. 🙂 And women too. Everyone has faults. Why try to leave blame w

…with one over the other.

I just hate two men. Talon’s dad and the guy I recently slept with. If men don’t want kids, why not wear a rubber? *shrug*
