Ithaca Falls. Nina and I took our first trip up there and had a wonderful time, the walk to the falls is pretty amazing, scenic as hell and when it comes to the changing of the leaves? Can’t be beat. The yellow of the leaves is so sharp and beautiful it hurts your eyes. It’s like someone hammered the brightness of the sun into the leaves themselves.
The falls is composed of sedimentary stones and black slate. Tons of it. The river bed itself is dry at times in the late fall and you can walk on it, kind of surreal being right beside running water like that as it dumps into a cascade. Beautiful.
