10 Things you should know about me

1) At one point I had a quite a pair of lungs and performed in my school’s concert chorus as well as county solo work which they did yearly. I still sing in the shower, to this day.

2) My favourite painting is van Gogh’s Ein Paar Schuhe (one pair of shoes).  I had seen it in a musem in the city and something kept drawing me back to it.

3) People; many of them, when they see me think I have a striking resemblance to Jack Black. I always wonder if he needs a body double. Imagine that…. 🙂 

4) I’m not exactly a flashy guy, rather I’m relatively low key. I like old bars with pool tables, the occasional jukebox and good wine mortared with long conversations that delve into the late hours of the night.

5) I have sprained my thumb, left ankle and that’s it. Thankfully I’ve never had more than this. I rarely have to go to the doctor and when i do I am a bit of a pain considering how long those places take. My wife is quite jealous of my constitution, I might be under the weather for a day, max 2 days but after I’m up and running. I’m not sure if it’s my constitution or just me ignoring it because I’m so damn stubborn.

6) Contrary to my sicilian heritage I do not eat squid. The smell of the ink just makes me ill.

7) I am quite jovial and fun right from go when I meet someone, unless of course they’re a stick in the mud. I enjoy making people laugh and see the smiles on their faces, there is a purity in laughter and smiles the kind of thanks which everyone enjoys.

8) I am blood type O+ and donate 2-3 times per year as it allows me. I can give whole blood to anyone, but at the other end of the table I can only receive from other O+ people.

9) I think friendship is one of the purest selfless things you can give someone. I think love is the other. I believe in love, the kind that withstands the test of time, distance and the ups and downs of life.

10) I feel that my son is the only part of me that isn’t tainted. When I see him do things, learn things I feel like that I’m indirectly getting a second chance. I want the best for him and I won’t stop to make things right for him.
