It’s Been Awhile…

Dear Diary,

Do people really start journal entries with Dear Diary anymore? I suppose I’ll stick what I believe is the norm.

It has been quite a few years since I wrote in this. I actually had another, more active diary, that I can’t seem to find. I am kind of bummed about that because I had a few contacts that I thoroughly enjoyed. Oh well. I suppose I will start anew with this one.

When I first started writing in this diary, I was a bit younger. I still had quite a bit of anger in me with what happened to me in my childhood. I made this diary anonymously because I just had so much in me that I wanted to get out. I liked the idea of it being online due to the fact that I could truly be anonymous.

A few years have passed and so much has changed. I single handedly helped put the monster away for life that had destroyed my childhood and haunted me for quite some time after. Since then, I have felt free and much more happier. Of course, I have my moments still. And the nightmares will never go away, but I know that the son of a bitch is still in a prison rotting away, where he belongs. He will never be able to put his hand on another innocent little girl as long as he shall live.  People see the change in me and, most importantly, I see the change in me. I have my confidence and self-esteem back. Some days, I feel as if I can move mountains. I’m still working on that.

Well, Diary, I just wanted to do a quick update. I guess it’s time to make some dinner. Though it’s far too hot to cook. Maybe a bowl of cereal will suffice. Have a good night and I promise to update again real soon!
