Dishes=No fun!

Dear Diary,

Dinner with the family was so much fun last night. Everyone got sitters for the kids, so it was just us adults and oh boy did it get crazy at the table. Other patrons were probably thinking we escaped from the loony bin or something. But you know what, it was great for all of us to be able to just let loose and let out some steam. Oh, and the food and the drinks were just delicious. I finally let my family know about my new job and they were beyond happy for me. They all know how miserable I have been at my current place of employment. My mom told me she was convinced that I was moving out of state, that my current employer was going to send me away haha. My mom can be silly at times. 

Today has been kind of uneventful. I ran to the grocery store to grab some provisions for the upcoming snow storm we are getting. Though, I forgot a couple of things on my list. I am sure I will be fine. If not, I can make do just fine. I just like to be a little prepared is all. I’ve also got most of my house cleaning done. I’ve been putting off the dishes though, because, well, I hate doing dishes. Laundry is just about complete. I am just waiting for the clothes in the dryer to dry and then I can fold them and put them away. Ah, I love the smell of clean clothes! And the feel of them once they come out of the dryer. Especially on these cold days!

My sister has invited me over for dinner tomorrow. She wanted to make a celebration dinner for my new job. She spoils me! I love my sister’s cooking. She’s one of the best cooks ever, next to my mom and grandma. I wish I was that good of a cook. I can cook somewhat, but I just don’t have the enthusiasm and seeing I am only cooking for one, it just isn’t that thrilling. I’ve been cooking a lot of sheet pan meals though, and they do turn out pretty good. Chicken is a big part of my diet. It’s getting kind of boring these days though. So, yeah, I cannot wait to see what my sister has in store for me. I just hope it’s not too terrible after I get out of work tomorrow. I did ask if my brother in law could give me a ride in his big truck that has 4-wheel drive if it is the case. They live out in BFE and there is no way my little car would make it on their back roads. 

Well, Diary, I’ve been procrastinating on those dishes all day. Time to get them done. Until next time!
